During the Committee Meeting, 18 out of the 20 State Parties supported India's proposal to get this important site inscribed in the list. The discussion on the proposal went on for 59 mins and after the positive recommendations by 18 State Parties, all the member states, UNESCO, World Heritage Centre, and Advisory Bodies of the UNESCO (ICOMOS, IUCN IUCN) congratulated the delegation of India for this momentous opportunity. India ranks 6th globally and 2nd in Asia Pacific Region for the most number of World Heritage Sites. 196 nations have ratified the World Heritage Convention, 1972. The raids were in connection with the terror funding and OGW network active across both the Jammu as well as Kashmir divisions. According to the agency, cases related to terror conspiracy as well as terror conspiracy involving Over Ground Workers (OGWs) and cadres of various proscribed terrorist organisations operating in Jammu and Kashmir. The teams of NIA, along with Jammu and Kashmir Police, raided multiple locations in south Kashmir, including Shopian's Reban, Nildoora, and Check e Cholend, Kulgam's Manzgam, Devsar, Sonigam, and Bugam, and areas in Pulwama. The raids were also carried out in the Northern parts of the Kashmir Valley in districts like Sopore and Kupwara. The NIA has been investigating terrorist groups who plan to execute violent attacks in the region using sticky bombs, Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), and small arms. <h2>Modi's Thailand schedule&nbsp;</h2>
PM Narendra Modi is set to attend the sixth edition of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC).
On Friday (Apr 4), he will engage with regional leaders to discuss key areas of cooperation.&nbsp;

In a statement, he detailed his official engagements in Thailand and said, "During my visit, I will have the opportunity to engage with Prime Minister Shinawatra and the Thai leadership, with a common desire to elevate our age-old historical ties, which are based on the strong foundations of shared culture, philosophy, and spiritual thought."
The Indian PM will also engage and interact with the Indian diaspora, underscoring the deep cultural and economic ties between India and Thailand.
<h2>Modi on Bimstec</h2>
Before his departure, Modi in a statement said: "Over the past decade, BIMSTEC has emerged as a significant forum for promoting regional development, connectivity, and economic progress in the Bay of Bengal region. With its geographical location, India's North-Eastern region lies at the heart of BIMSTEC".
Expressing his enthusiasm to be a part of the BIMSTEC summit and engaging with the forum's leader, he said: "I look forward to meeting the leaders of the BIMSTEC countries and engaging productively to further strengthen our collaboration with the interests of our people in mind."
Following Thailand, Modi will travel to Sri Lanka as part of his two-nation tour.

"I am confident that these visits will build on the foundations of the past and contribute to strengthening our close relationships for the benefit of our people and the wider region," he added.

PM Modi was the chief guest at the National Day celebrations marking the 57th anniversary of the Independence of Mauritius. He also participated in this event a decade back, in March 2015. Last year, the president of India was the chief guest there. Having an Indian leader thrice at the year&rsquo;s most significant state event within 10 years demonstrates the high importance that Mauritius attaches to its friendship with India. It also reflects the nation&rsquo;s appreciation for the cooperation and support extended by India over the years. Clearly, the small island nation considers India &ldquo;a time-tested and trusted friend.&rdquo; Mauritius conferred its highest civilian honour &nbsp;on Modi &nbsp;&ndash; &lsquo;The Grand Commander &nbsp;of the Order of the Star and Key of the Indian Ocean.&rsquo;
On the other hand, &nbsp;in India, which fully respects Mauritius&rsquo; independence and sovereignty, this maritime neighbour is often viewed as &lsquo;the Little India&rsquo;, &nbsp;given the fact that about 70 per cent of its population is of Indian origin. During the latest visit, the PM decided to update and expand this doctrine meaningfully by announcing his vision of MAHASAGAR (Mutual and Holistic Advancement for Security and Growth Across Regions).&nbsp;
Experts will no doubt explain the implications of this new idea. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s state visit to Mauritius on 11–12 March was well-prepared, with the aim to give a notable boost to this vital relationship at a time of sharpening geopolitical competition in the West Indian Ocean region. It attempted to showcase and advance a special and unique relationship with multiple dimensions. Following a detailed dialogue at the highest political levels, the two governments decided to work for an ‘Enhanced Strategic Partnership’, backed by a close and deep people-to-people connect. It is difficult to appreciate the visit’s significance without diving deep into the multi-dimensional relationship that has bound India and Mauritius for a long time. Instead, it is easy to wonder why Mauritius, a nation of 1.2 million people, matters to India, with its population of 1.4 billion, and vice versa. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be the guest of honour at Mauritius national day next month, Mauritius Prime Minister Dr Navinchandra Ramgoolam has announced. Mauritius celebrates its national day on 12 March and it was on this day in 1968 that country gained its independence from the British. It was also on this day in 1992 that it became a republic.&nbsp;
 In a statement in the Parliament, PM Ramgoolam said, "In the context of the celebrations of the 57th anniversary of the Independence of our country, I have great pleasure to inform the House, that following my invitation, His Excellency, Shri Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, has kindly agreed to be the Guest of Honour for our National Day celebrations".&nbsp;
 Amid the thunderous applause, he highlighted that it is "indeed a singular privilege for our country, to host such a distinguished personality who is doing us this honour, inspite of his very tight schedule and inspite of his recent visits to Paris and the United States. He has agreed to be here as our special guest" and the upcoming visit is a "testimony of the close relations between our two nations".
