The pacer, owing to the injury, was also excluded from India's Champions Trophy squad despite being named among 15-man provisional team. BCCI, however, decided not to include him in the final 15 after assessing him before the tournament squad announcement deadline.
Bumrah is a vital cog in India's pace lineup. He played an important role in India winning the 2024 T20 World Cup in South Africa. His availability for the England Test tour, which follows the IPL 2025, will be crucial for India's chances.

I find myself honoured to be surrounded by players like Yastika Bhatia and Amelia Kerr.<o:p></o:p>

Well we are very chilled at the moment, but when it comes to on-field battles, there is always fierce competition. To have world class players around you helps improve your quality both on and off field. The senior guys especially helped all the new girls like me settle in well which helps in creating a positive atmosphere.<o:p></o:p>

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction was done over two days in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia with all the 10 franchises vying with each other to fill up 246 possible slots out of a total of 578 registered players.

Punjab Kings (PBKS) entered the auction with the highest purse and made a huge buy in Shreyas Iyer for INR 26.75 crore (above $3 million) while Rishabh Pant went to Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for INR 27 crore (approx $3.1 million).

For Mumbai Indians (MI), the five-time winners retained Jasprit Bumrah, captain Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, Rohit Sharma and Tilak Varma. The retention announced on Thursday (Oct 31) had some surprises, but the majority of the big-name players expected to be retained had their wish fulfilled and won’t enter mega auctions set to take place in the next few weeks. Interestingly, despite rumours, both Rohit and Hardik have been retained, with the latter continuing to serve as skipper.

<h2>Hardik Pandya to lead Mumbai</h2>

Despite rumours and a wealth of captaincy material, Mumbai Indians have retained faith in Hardik Pandya to skipper the side. “It means a lot. Very emotional, we'd been working very hard, and something was not clicking. But today we got what the whole nation wanted. More special for me; for how my last six months were, I haven't spoken a word, things have been unfair," Pandya said in a chat with Star Sports.

“I knew that if I kept working hard, I could shine and do what I could do. Getting an opportunity like this makes it more special. We always believed it was just about executing our plans and staying calm and letting the pressure come to them," Pandya said in a post-match presentation.

"I believe in grace. A lot was said by people who don't know even know me one per cent as a person. People have spoken, no issues, but I have always believed in life that you never respond with words, circumstances can respond,” Pandya responded.&nbsp;
