<p>"As a batter, I know I didn't live up to the standard. But, after playing for all these years, I know that if I overthink, I won't play well. All I try is to stay in a good mindset, in the right zone, keep practicing, and improve on all the flaws in my game. That's all I kept doing," he said.</p>

<p>Rohit, however, finished the season in style, scoring 68 off 38 balls but MI failed to chase the target of 215 and could manage only 196/6 in 20 overs.</p>

<p>Mumbai, who were being led by Hardik Pandya, finished last in the season with 10 losses in 14 games. They had started the season with three consecutive losses and could not recover from that. <p>Legendary South African cricketer AB de Villiers has hit back after his comments regarding Hardik Pandya's captaincy were seemingly misconstrued.&nbsp;De Villiers expressed disappointment over the issue,&nbsp;adding he loves the way Hardik leads a team.</p>

<p>ABD issued the response after he suggested Pandya's captaincy was "ego-driven" which had brought him success at Gujarat Titans but the seniors in the MI camp were unable to adjust to such a style of captaincy.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>SRH couldn't get another breakthrough in the match afterwards as Surya and Tilak added 143 unbeaten runs for the fourth wicket for MI's fourth win in 12 games this season. Apart from him, no other batter has been consistent but they have chipped in as and when required. In the bowling department, Yash Thakur has been their best bowler with 10 wickets in eight games. However, LSG's spinners Krunal Pandya and Ravi Bishnoi, who both have five wickets each, would be looking to be more effective.</p>

<p>As for MI, they are fighting to stay alive in the race for&nbsp;playoffs after losing six of the nine games played. After losing the first three games, MI looked to be back with three wins in the next four games but their campaign derailed again with two consecutive losses in the last two games.</p>

<p>“I generally feel that it is going to hold back [development of all-rounders] because eventually cricket is played by 11 players, not 12 players," Rohit said on the Club Prairie Podcast, co-hosted by Adam Gilchrist and Michael Vaughan.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“I'm not a big fan of impact player (rule). You are taking out so much from the game just to make it a little entertainment for the people around.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“But if you look [at] genuinely just cricketing aspect of it…. I can give you so many examples - guys like Washington Sundar, Shivam Dube are not getting to bowl, which for us [India team] is not a good thing,” the India captain continued.</p>
