<p>The decision to cancel Jemimah's membership was taken at Sunday’s (Oct 20)&nbsp;annual general body meeting. On the other hand, text messages and phone calls&nbsp;were reportedly made to the 24-year-old&nbsp;and her father for comments, however, they went&nbsp;unanswered.</p>

<p>Khar Gymkhana president Vivek Devnani confirmed the action and told The Indian Express, "The honorary three-year membership given to Ms Jemimah Rodrigues was revoked pursuant to a resolution passed by the members who attended the general meeting held on October 20, 2024."</p>

<p>Meanwhile, the club's&nbsp;managing committee member Shiv Malhotra stated, "We came to know that Jemimah Rodrigues’s father was attached to an organisation called Brother Manuel Ministries. They booked the presidential hall for almost a year and a half and held 35 events. We all know what was happening there."</p>

<p>"We hear about conversions all over the country, but it’s happening right under our nose. There was dancing, expensive music equipment, big screens. Riding on Jemimah Rodrigues' 78-ball 86 and skipper Harman's 52, India posted 228 for 8 after being asked to bat first. In reply, the home side fell flat and only managed a paltry 120 all-out in 35.1 overs due to Jemimah's four-fer and Devika Vaidya's 3 for 30.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"We have been batting on flat tracks, played ODIs after a long time and hence were not able to adjust quickly, but we spoke about how to adjust and bat on these surfaces (after the first game). It will be a good game in two days time."</p>

<p>The third and final ODI will be played at the&nbsp;Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka on Saturday (July 22) with the series interestingly poised at 1-1. <p>As we approach the start of the maiden edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL), everyone’s looking forward to watching Delhi Capitals get into action. Led by the Australian Meg Lanning, Delhi has some firework in its batting in the Indian duo of Shafali Verma and Jemimah Rodrigues. While it was Lanning’s Australia that lifted the recently-concluded T20 World Cup in South Africa, India’s Jemimah also made headlines for her star performances in crunch games. Her unbeaten 53 against Pakistan helped India win the opener by seven wickets, whereas, she scored a fighting 43 off 24 balls against Australia in the semis too, which India lost by five runs.</p>

<p>On the other hand, young and attacking opener Shafali Verma, who made history by leading India to its maiden U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup title in January, will also join forces with Meg and Jemimah at Delhi Capitals for the inaugural edition. Radha Yadav then was caught off&nbsp;Gardner on the fourth ball, leaving India with the daunting task of needing two sixes to win the game.&nbsp;Shikha Pandey, the new batswoman, however, could manage only a single, and Deepti Sharma finished off with a four, which was too little and too late.</p>

<p>India, at one stage, looked set to run away with the match when skipper Harmanpreet Kaur and Jemimah Rodrigues were on the crease but eventually fell short, yet again. The duo added 69 runs for the fourth wicket in just 7.2 overs. Rodrigues was the first of them to go back, but not before scoring a valiant 43 off 24 balls. Skipper Kaur, who scored 52 off 34 balls,&nbsp;then was caught short as&nbsp;her bat got stuck while she tried to drag it back in, leaving India five down on 133.</p>

<p>Earlier, being asked to bowl first, India wasn't off to a great start as Alyssa Healy-Beth Mooney stitched a 52-run opening stand. While Healy returned for an unimpressive 26-ball 25, Mooney struck a 37-ball 54 whereas captain Lanning came to her own as the innings progressed and ensured the scoreboard kept ticking. Lanning (34-ball 49*) and Ashleigh Gardner's 18-ball 31 took Australia to a daunting 172 for 4 on a tricky wicket.</p>

Against the run of play, Jemimah top-edged one to the keeper to give Australia a key breakthrough and bring them back into the contest. India crumbed from thereon as the required run rate went up as Australian bowlers used the slower ones and made scoring difficult.</p>

<p>With the defeat, India bowed out of the showpiece event with three wins and two defeats (versus top teams such as England and Australia). A high dot-ball percentage and ordinary bowling in the semis led to their downfall, coupled with fitness concerns.</p>
