India pacer Arshdeep Singh broke the record of most wickets by an Indian in a single T20 World Cup with his three-for against Australia in Super 8 clash on Monday (June 24).

Arshdeep now has 15 wickets in the ongoing T20 World Cup - second most after Afghanistan pacer Fazalhaq Farooqui's 16. The previous best in the terms of most wickets for India in an edition of T20 World Cup was RP Singh's 12 scalps in 2007.

Thanks to Arshdeep, Australia could manage only 181/7 in 20 overs in a chase of 206 and lost the match by 24 runs.

Arshdeep, speaking after the match, gave a lot of credit of India pacer spearhead Jasprit Bumrah for his wickets.

"A lot of credit goes to Jassi bhai because he puts a lot of pressure on the batters - he gives, what, three or four runs in an over - so batters are coming hard against me, and I just have to try and bowl my best ball and there are a lot of chances of getting wickets there," Arshdeep said.

"On the other end they see the runs are not coming and the asking rate is going high, so they take more risks against me. [There's a] chance always of getting a wicket there. So a lot of credit for my wickets goes to Jassi bhai."

Bumrah himself is having a blast of a tournament with 11 wickets in six games. His economy of 4.08, is the best among all the bowlers in the tournament with 10 or more wickets.

As for the match, Arshdeep spoke about how the wind factor came into play when they made bowling plans from different ends.

"When we bowled from the end opposite to the pavilion, we got a lot of swing. From the other end, bowling against the wind… the batters were going to use the wind since the ball was travelling. So we had to look for defensive options there and not allow the wind to come into play," he added.

Playing his first ball in the second over, Bumrah’s outgoing yorker caught the West Indies batter with surprise as he&nbsp;was moving&nbsp;towards the leg side. Considering it was his first ball of the innings, the batter failed to judge the swing on the ball, leaving Narine completely helpless. His Golden Duck saw KKR reduced to 10/2 in the second over&nbsp;having&nbsp;also lost Philip Salt in the first over.&nbsp;

When I'm executing, I know I can bowl six in a row, and they still won't be able to hit. “They might get away with one, but they still might not be able to hit more than one. So, for me, that delivery is all about execution. And when the conditions allow me to bowl six slower balls, I will bowl six slower balls. I have no shame in being called a spinner who runs fast and bowls off-spin, which people have said multiple times - which is absolutely fine,” he added. When asked about how every time he manages to pick wickets whenever he is given the ball at any stage during the game, the experienced India seamer said he's used to doing it for 11 years now.

"I've been doing this for 11 years here, so I have now been used to being ready whenever the situation demands," Bumrah said.&nbsp;

"You use your experience, you keep an eye on [where] the game is heading, because what happened in the end, dew set in, so the wicket got a little better and the ball started skidding on. So all of these things, you try to get involved in the game and you try to help others as well," MI's ace bowler added.&nbsp;

MI bowlers didn't let DC keep up the run rate and Jasprit Bumrah led the charge with a searing yorker to DC batter Prithvi Shaw. The DC opener was looking to take the game on with 40-ball 66 before being dismissed by Bumrah.

Meanwhile, BCCI also confirmed that after consulting with doctors in London over the quadricep-tendon injury that ruled him out of three of the four Tests played thus far, batter KL Rahul will remain unavailable for selection.&nbsp;

"The BCCI medical team is closely monitoring him and coordinating with specialists in London for further management of his issue," the statement read.

On Mohammed Shami, the Indian Cricket Board said the seamer is recovering well after undergoing surgery on his right Achilles tendon earlier this week, and&nbsp;will join the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru for rehab soon.

"He is recovering well and will soon head to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru to commence his rehabilitation process,” the BCCI said in it statement.&nbsp;

While India also had the option to play Mukesh Kumar, who was part of the Visakhapatnam Test, they went ahead with the debutant as Mukesh proved expensive in Vizag. Notably, 27-year-old Akash has partnered with Mukesh for Bengal in red-ball cricket. He has scalped 104 wickets from 30 first-class games, at an average of 23.58. Looks a bit dry and has some cracks, but that's the nature of the pitch here. The last two games were good for us and we'll have to play in the same way. Proud of a lot of young guys in the squad, they've taken the responsibility and have taken the challenge head-on. They are confident in their skills, moving forward it's a good thing. One change with Akash Deep making his debut." Steyn feels fans should not worry about Bumrah's workload as he opined that there is good communication between the pacer and the Indian team management, adding&nbsp;he deserves to take some rest&nbsp;in between given the amount of cricket and travel.

Speaking to TOI, Steyn said, "I don't know how his workload is going right now. I suppose being an Indian player there is going to be a lot of workload. There is a lot of cricket in India these days. The Indian team is playing a lot of cricket and people want to play against them. They are travelling most of the time. So, there is a huge percentage of the bowlers who will be bowling a lot of overs. Bumrah could be one of those guys. But he is being managed quite well."

He mentioned, "There is good communication with Bumrah himself about what he wants to do, when he wants to play and when he takes time off. It seems like India really doesn't miss him because the stepped-in bowlers are up to the standards. It is a very good thing about Indian fast bowling."
