<p>"If surgery is advised, it can only be ascertained after reports come out, it will be completely his call."</p>

<p>Viswanathan was also questioned about Dhoni’s availability&nbsp;next season despite him claiming&nbsp;he would return for "at least" one more season for the fans. If Dhoni does decide to retire from IPL, it will free a purse of INR 15 crore for CSK to spend in the mini-auction for the next&nbsp;season.</p>

<p>"Frankly, we are not even thinking along those lines as we haven't reached that stage," Viswanathan said.</p>

<p>"It will be completely Dhoni's call. But I can tell you, in CSK, we haven't entertained those thoughts."</p>

<p>Ruturaj fell for a 16-ball 26 before Conway followed suit (for a 25-ball 47) but struck some flawless boundaries prior to his fall. Noor Ahmad (2 for 17 in three&nbsp;overs) removed both the openers but Ajinkya Rahane announced his arrival with two sublime sixes.</p>

<p>The chase was on. While Dube struggled, Rahane got the boundaries to keep a check on the required run rate. IPL 2023 Final: MS Dhoni's CSK beat defenders GT on last ball of rain-marred contest to win fifth title

<p>"The tough thing for me is to work hard for another nine months and come back and play at least one more season of IPL. But a lot depends on the body, I have six-seven months to decide and it will be more like a gift from my side [to the fans]. It's not easy for me but the way they've shown their love and affection, that's something I need to do for them," said MS Dhoni, as he led Chennai Super Kings to their fifth IPL title with win over Gujarat Titans.</p>

<p>The charismatic leader, whose battings prowess has been on the wane with age, has persevered to play in the ongoing season through a knee injury. He has batted only 57&nbsp;balls this season, the least in his 15-IPL career yet. However, fans all over the country have cheered every single one of his 10 sixes through the season even as he got out for a first-ball duck in the final showdown.</p>

<p>What stands out most this season about Dhoni is his strike of 182.46 - his best in IPL career. It shows how the wicketkeeper-batsman has evolved his play, yet again, to meet the cruel demands of a game which takes a split second to show one the mirror of reality.</p>

<p>Chennai Super Kings batsman Ravindra Jadeja held his composure as he smacked two boundaries (one four and a six) off the last two balls of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 final to take his team home.</p>

<h2><strong>Fleming's praise for Jadeja</strong></h2>

<p>"They say there are no fairytales in sport but that was a pretty good one today," Fleming said, as he recalled Jadeja's topsy-turvy journey with CSK since IPL 2022.</p>

<p>"It's probably been a difficult 18 months where the captaincy was difficult. The injury was difficult. It took a bit of time for him to get out of the game and come reinvigorated in the Test game and then reintegrate into CSK.</p>

<p>"He plays a great role with the ball. But we've got so much firepower, that sometimes we use him lower down the order. But something had to give. And MS has been really supportive and proactive of getting him up there and today he repaid that faith," Fleming added.</p>

<p>With 13 runs required off the final over, Jadeja and Co were staring at defeat before he pulled off stunners on the final two balls. CSK needed 10 runs off the&nbsp;last two balls when Jadeja scored a six and a four to add another trophy to his illustrious cabinet.</p>

<p>"The six, in particular, off a ball that was very close to perfect, was defining," Fleming said.</p>

<p>"And then a good left-hander hitting through fine leg was a great way to finish it. I couldn't be more happy for him. Yeah, there has been some frustration at times, but he is a gun player. He's a No.1 ranked player and today he delivered,” the former New Zealand skipper said.</p>

<p>After three days of unbelievable drama, Chennai Super Kings emerged on the top as they beat Gujarat Titans by five wickets to lift their fifth IPL title – joint-most with Mumbai Indians. The Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad erupted in joy after CSK all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja smashed ten off the last two balls to help his team cross the line.</p>

<p>The match that was supposed to start and finish on May 28th began a day later, on May 29th, while the result came the next day - May 30th.&nbsp;<br />
Batting first in this rain-hit contest, Gujarat got off to a flying start, with both openers Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha stitching another fifty-plus stand for the first wicket. After Dhoni affected an incredible stumping to dismiss Gill, left-hander batter Sai Sudharsan came to the crease and decided to make this evening his own.</p>

<p>Alongside Saha, who became the oldest player to score a fifty in an IPL final, Sai slammed every CSK bowler to all parts of the ground, and courtesy of his record-breaking 96 off 47 balls, which included eight fours and six sixes, Gujarat put up a mammoth 214 for four in 20 overs.</p>

<p>CSK’s innings began with a four before rain halted the play for nearly three hours. After several rain interruptions and inspections that followed, play resumed past mid night, with CSK needing 171 to win from 15 overs.</p>

<p>Following a brilliant start, CSK's both openers got out to Noor Ahmad, after which Ajinkya Rahane and Ambati Rayudu – the man who was playing his last IPL game, brought Chennai closer to the chase with quickfire cameos. Shivam Dube also contributed with handy sixes, but what was disappointing was MS Dhoni getting out on a first-ball duck off Mohit Sharma.</p>

<p>Ravindra Jadeja then kept his cool and scored ten off last two balls to help CSK beat GT by five wickets and lift the IPL 2023 trophy.</p>

<p>"I had decided that if I am bowling against SKY, I won't experiment much. We had a meeting where we discussed that we mustn't try too much against Surya, it makes things easier for him. So the idea was to bowl length balls. There were frequent pitch inspections by the umpires as on occasions rain stopped to give relief to the fans. But at 11:00 PM IST, the IPL Twitter handle posted the postponement of the contest which will now take place on Monday.</p>

<p>This will also be the first time an IPL match has taken place on reserve day with still good chances that the match could be called off if rain again is the party-popper.</p>

<h2><strong>What were the scenarios?</strong></h2>

<p>The relevant teams were to compete in a Super Over and, if necessary, additional Super Overs to determine which team will win the match. A 20-over match must be completed by 11.40 PM IST. The start time for a 5-over-per-side game is 12:06 AM, before which the contest was called off.</p>
