MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) arrived in the UAE sometime back and have begun their preparations for the second leg of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 edition, to resume from September 19. The Yellow Army had a great run in the first leg and will now look to continue with their merry run in the concluding leg to win their fourth title overall.

For the unversed, CSK's last title came in the 2018 edition and, hence, they will be eager to win their fourth championship as their arch-rivals Mumbai Indians (MI) have gone way ahead of them in terms of overall titles (5). Dhoni & Co. have, thus, started their preparations and the 40-year-old Dhoni is leaving no stone unturned at the nets.

Recently, CSK shared a video of Dhoni's batting at the nets, where he turned back the clocks with his effortless big strikes. What was interesting that the CSK captain, along with his teammates, went for ball hunting later on as a result of Dhoni's big sixes. Here's the video, shared by CSK with the caption, "Dhoni's Sixes. Our love for Thala. Out of bounds."

The CSK fans would be thrilled to bits seeing Dhoni in good form ahead of the final leg of IPL 2021. The former Indian captain wasn't at his best during the first leg, which saw only 29 games being completed before Covid-19 crisis led to IPL 14's indefinite postponement.

Talking about CSK's run so far in IPL 2021, the Yellow Army ended the first leg with 5 wins from 7 encounters. They remain at the second spot, behind Delhi Capitals (DC), and will be desperate to carry the momentum going forward. Needless to say, Dhoni's form and his astute leadership will be crucial to CSK's chances of winning their fourth IPL title.

IPL: Mike Hesson steps in as RCB head coach, Hasaranga replaces Zampa

Ahead of the resumption of Season 14 of the IPL, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) head coach Mike Hesson on Saturday stated that Sri Lanka`s Wanidu Hasaranga who replaced Adam Zampa was on the team`s radar for a long time.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) head coach Simon Katich has stepped down as head coach of the IPL side due to personal reasons and as part of the team`s business continuity plan, Mike Hesson will step in and discharge the duties of head coach for this season, in addition to his existing role of Director of Cricket Operations.

"As a team RCB started the first half of the season well. We gained plenty of momentum and will certainly continue that progress in the season and a half. We are in a decent position but we also know that we have plenty of work to do," Mike Hesson said in a virtual press briefing.

Sri Lankan all-rounder Wanidu Hasaranga will now be part of RCB for the second leg of IPL 2021 in UAE. He replaced Adam Zampa. Hasaranga was the Player of the Series in the recently concluded Sri Lanka-India T20I series taking 7 wickets in 3 matches at an economy rate of 5.58.

Talking about Hasaranga, Hesson said: "We have an extensive scouting program, Wanidu has been on our radar for a long time. We aren`t surprised by his success in recent times, he has been doing it for a while. We like his skill set. We like the fact that he is a multi-skill cricketer, so he offers us the ability to bat a little bit deeper as well. That gives us a lot of exciting options."

Rajesh Menon, Vice President and Head, Royal Challengers Bangalore talking about bubble protocol for RCB pointed: "In terms of bubble protocol we have a very tight protocol which is in place. This seven-day quarantine itself is what we have placed. The entire hotel staff, drivers are tested, everybody is part of the bubble. So it`s a complete secure bubble that we are getting into."

As IPL again goes to the UAE, Hesson shed some light on the team`s advantage. He said, "There are players on both sides who have played in that condition a year ago. We have got some good memories of the last time we were there. We made the playoffs, we played nicely."

That gives us a lot of exciting options." Rajesh Menon, Vice President and Head, Royal Challengers Bangalore talking about bubble protocol for RCB pointed: "In terms of bubble protocol we have a very tight protocol which is in place. This seven-day quarantine itself is what we have placed. The entire hotel staff, drivers are tested, everybody is part of the bubble. So it`s a complete secure bubble that we are getting into." As IPL again goes to the UAE, Hesson shed some light on the team`s advantage. He said, "There are players on both sides who have played in that condition a year ago. We have got some good memories of the last time we were there. We made the playoffs, we played nicely." Another Sri Lankan, Dushmantha Chameera also confirmed his place in the Banglore side. The fast bowler replaces Daniel Sams. Tim David who is no stranger to the T20 format replaced Finn Allen at RCB for the remainder of the season. After tasting success in T20 leagues around the world, the hard-hitting batsman and handy bowler will now test his skills in IPL. The Indian players, support staff and the team management will be assembling in Bengaluru on Saturday following which the team will undergo 7 days of quarantine and will undergo Covid tests for 3 days during the period. The team will then depart via a chartered flight from Bangalore on August 29. The other international players and staff will assemble in the UAE starting August 29 onwards. There will be another 6 days of quarantine in the UAE. Royal Challengers Bangalore resume Season 14 of the IPL on September 20 as they square off against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

New Zealand players set to be available for remainder of IPL 2021 in UAE: Reports

Kuldeep Yadav has been quite possibly the one of most discussed Indian cricketers in the course of recent years. The left-arm wrist-spinner burst onto the scene in the U19 World Cup back in 2014 where he got a hat-trick. Despite the fact that he needed to stand by some time to make his worldwide debut, there was no thinking back for the adolescent.

Swindling the resistance batsmen with his inconspicuous varieties, Kuldeep Yadav before long turned into a fan top choice and was one of India's greatest match-victors in white-ball cricket. In any case, the group's mix just as the appearance of new ability has seen the 26-year-old get fewer possibilities than he would have enjoyed.

In a chat with Sportskeeda, Kuldeep Yadav opened up on his stint with Kolkata Knight Riders, his objectives for the Sri Lanka visit, and significantly more.

While it is a well-known fact that it was the incredible Shane Warne who roused Kuldeep to be a wrist-spinner, his excursion from being an Under-19 cricketer to turning into a bowler for India wouldn't have been conceivable without one man – previous India batsman and KKR skipper Gautam Gambhir, whom the chinaman bowler credits for managing and mentoring him massively right since his journey began.

"When you watch international cricket, you see that there's that hunger within Virat Kohli to do well and take the team forward and win. When Gauti bhai played for KKR, even he had the same mindset that the team should win. Then I think KKR were lacking in that regard and wasn't thinking in that way, or maybe they weren't taking this tournament seriously or thinking about their approach if they lost games. These things matter a lot and I think those things were missing," Kuldeep Yadav opined.

Notwithstanding KKR's battles, Kuldeep Yadav played only 14 games and wasn't featured in the playing XI. The 26-year-old is yet to play a solitary game in the IPL 2021 season. He expressed:

"Somewhere it does feel unfair that when you play for India but you still don't get to play franchise cricket. You do feel bad but there is nothing you can do, you can only work hard and ask for reasons. When you do ask for reasons you get some explanation but maybe the kind of backing that I was expecting from KKR I didn't get. The kind of trust Gauti bhai showed in me, maybe I didn't get that in this team."

With the T20 World Cup set to be played not long from now, just as the following version of the competition in Australia one year from now, Kuldeep Yadav has his eyes set on the Sri Lanka visit. He feels if can capitalize on his odds, he may highlight in, at any rate, one of the two show-stopper occasions.

"If I do get a chance on the Sri Lanka tour or in the second half of the IPL then I will be able to make an impact in the T20 World Cup. And there is another World Cup next year Down Under, so it's not that this is my last chance. I might be effective in Australia if I get a chance," Kuldeep Yadav signed off" - he concluded
Both Shakib and Mustafizur are unlikely to receive the No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) for IPL 2021. While Shakib plays for Kolkata Knight Riders, Mustafizur plies trade for Rajasthan Royals. IPL 2021 was postponed on May 4 after multiple COVID-19 cases inside the bio-secure bubble. It is likely to resume around September 19 with the final on October 10. BCB chief Nazmul has said that it is impossible to provide Shakib and Mustafizur with NOCs due to Bangladesh's international commitment while adding that every international fixture is important due to the upcoming T20 World Cup. Cricket: Crowds likely at IPL 2021 matches in UAE - Report

IPL 2021 was indefinitely postponed due to the rise in COVID-19 cases within the franchises. The BCCI confirmed that the second half of IPL will take place in the United Arab Emirates. Although there is a possibility of missing few overseas players, however, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Vice President Rajeev Shukla affirmed the league will go on in any case.

The excess 31 matches of IPL 2021 are likely to be held from September 15 to October 10 in the UAE. Notwithstanding, few of the boards aim to keep their players afresh for T20 World Cup in October, certain franchises may miss their overseas players' services.

Rajeev Shukla, however, guaranteed that the IPL 2021 will be completed with the accessible players and that the franchises would likewise be permitted to rope in substitutions.

Rajeev Shukla in an interaction told Khaleej Times: “We have discussed that [foreign players] issue also. Our main focus is on completing this edition of the IPL. It should not be left halfway through. So, whichever foreign players are available is fine. Whoever is not available, it is not going to stop us from hosting the tournament.

“The Indian players are there, foreign players are there, but few foreign players will not be available. As I said, we have to complete our tournament. So the franchises will definitely look for other players. Whoever is available, we are going to have the tournament with them. That’s our policy”

As of now, there are questions over the support of players from England and Australia. While Team England is scheduled to play two T20Is in Pakistan on October 14 and 15, Cricket Australia may very well need to deal with their players' responsibility in front of the World Cup and Ashes toward the year's end.

Rajeev Shukla is as of now in the UAE for a meeting with the Emirates Cricket Board and government experts on the coordinations of arranging the excess matches of IPL 2021. He will be joined by BCCI president Sourav Ganguly, secretary Jay Shah, and Brijesh Patel.

“I am already here. Now a team of office-bearers, president, secretary, and the IPL chairman will be coming here in a couple of days. We will be having discussions with the cricket board here and the other authorities.
Rajeev Shukla indicated that the UAE was ultimately picked in light of the conceivable harsh climate in the UK. The authorities, in any case, will accept an approach permitting spectators in the stands.

“The only issue about the spectators, whether they will allow the spectators or not. So we will talk to them about that. We will go by whatever UAE authorities decide.
