It will be directed by Pushan Kriplani who developed the script keeping the two actors in mind who are set to play mother-daughter in the drama.

The film is the result of a British-American venture that is being produced by Splendid Films USA.&nbsp;

It will be produced by Amit Saxena and the film is described to be a delicate timeless story of a mother and a daughter, and of a community. Set in London, ‘Goldfish’ deals with memory, music, mental health and identity. Anamika (played by Kalki), the child of a mixed marriage, returns home to her estranged mother Sadhana (Neena Gupta) because she is suffering from the onset of dementia. Anamika returns to a neighbourhood she barely remembers, to a woman who sometimes doesn’t remember her. What ensues next is an unfolding of complex yet beautiful emotions as Sandhana and Anamika’s worlds, though strikingly different, come together.

On confirming the venture, Neena Gupta said, “It’s a very different experience to work with Pushan Kripalani, I’m saying so because I did a very beautiful film with him which he directed called The Threshold, which is on Hotstar. When he came to me with this Goldfish film, the script, I was very excited. Number one because it is a very very challenging role and it's a beautiful script and I love the way Pushan works, there is a lot of freedom which the actors get. It’s a very different experience from the other films, he’s a very special person in my life and I’m very excited to be a part of Goldfish. In fact I’m very nervous because it is a very challenging role.”

Filmmaker Christopher Nolan is enchanted by India as he says the country is "unbelievably visual" with an "extraordinary history" that made it a suitable location for filming his new feature 'Tenet'.

Billed as a globetrotting game of international espionage with a time-bending element at the centre, the film features John David Washington in the lead alongside Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki, Dimple Kapadia, Kenneth Branagh, Aaron Taylor Johnson, Michael Caine and Clemence Poesy.

Nolan and his cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema shot the movie in countries like Denmark, Estonia, Italy, Norway, the UK and the US as well as India, where the crew came down for a five-day shoot in Mumbai last September.

The filmmaker, who previously shot a small sequence of his 2012 movie 'The Dark Knight Rises'&nbsp;in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, said he chose Mumbai as it was one of the "most extraordinary looking cities in the world".

"Every time I go to India, I''m struck by how unbelievably visual the place is. I had shot a couple of days in Jodhpur on 'The Dark Knight Rises'&nbsp;and always wanted to go back and shoot a more substantial sequence, and I had the opportunity to do that on 'Tenet'," Nolan said in an exclusive transcript shared with PTI by Warner Bros.

"We shot in Mumbai, which is just one of the most extraordinary looking cities in the world in terms of its architecture, the amazing people and the abundance of life on the streets there. It''s a really remarkable place with this extraordinary history, so, to be able to take the audience there, it seemed a very exciting setting," he added.

In Mumbai, the movie was shot in areas like Breach Candy Hospital, Cafe Mondegar, Colaba Causeway, Colaba Market, Gateway of India, Grant Road, Royal Bombay Yacht Club, and the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel. 
Nolan said that he had a wonderful time collaborating with local crews in pulling off some amazing shots.

"They have such a wonderful love of film and a highly developed film industry, it was really fun to collaborate with the local crews and learn about how they make films and cooperate with them in pulling off some remarkable things, including some of the first-ever aerial shots of Mumbai in a film.

"There are some really interesting things we were able to capture, shooting for a relatively short space of time in challenging conditions because it was monsoon season, so when it rained it really rained. But it was such a wonderfully atmospheric place to be," the 50-year-old filmmaker added.

Nolan also opened up about roping in a star-studded international cast for the project as he wanted the movie to transcend national boundaries.

"It's not about America per se, it's about the survival of the entire human race. I wanted the stakes to be apparent and apparent in the breadth of nationalities. It really is the notion of using the diversity of the cast to express that the threat is a threat to the entire world.

"So from Rob Pattinson playing an Englishman, to Kenneth Branagh playing a Russian, to Elizabeth Debicki playing an Englishwoman to Dimple Kapadia playing an Indian woman... We were really trying to bring in a lot of different national identities to play," the filmmaker said.

In previous interviews, Nolan has talked about how he was always fascinated by spy movies, especially the James Bond franchise, but with 'Tenet', he wanted to do something different.

"I've always wanted to take on a spy film, but I've also known that I would never be that interested in just making the kind of spy film that I had grown up watching."

"What I really wanted to do was find a way to re-energise it for the audience -- to give them a reason to look in a fresh way, in a new way, at some of the tropes of the genre, which was very much what we did with the heist genre in Inception, dealing with the world of dreams."

The filmmaker said he likes to challenge the conventions of a particular genre and present them in a new way to the audiences.

"You get to maximise your input from the audience in a way - they come with an expectation about a particular genre, and you get the benefit of that in terms of propelling the story forward.

"You also get the benefit of that in terms of using those conventions to ground the audience in a set of science fiction ideas that might otherwise be far too abstract to get ahold of in a short space of time," he added.

Another aspect of filmmaking that has made Nolan a god-like figure to many cinephiles is his penchant for fiddling with time. Right from his breakout movie 'Memento'&nbsp;in 2000 and then films like 'Inception'&nbsp;(2010), 'Interstellar'&nbsp;(2014) and 'Dunkirk'&nbsp;(2017), time is a common thread that binds them together.

His answer to this observation is simple -- he is "fascinated" by time.

"In my work, I've always felt an interesting relationship between the process of watching a film and how films work, and the notion of time inside them and how they relate to time.

"So, for me, having narratives that in some way explore the relationship between the way we perceive time in everyday life and the way we perceive time in a movie theatres and watching a film… that's always seemed an interesting place to play around," Nolan said.

The filmmaker said Tenet&nbsp;will feel like a "kind of apotheosis" of some of the ideas he has explored in his movies.

"There is a sense in which the story of 'Tenet' makes literal, makes a physical reality of the story - things that I was doing structurally or metaphorically in earlier movies," Nolan added.

The Warner Bros film is slated to be released in Indian theatres on December 4 in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

Police arrested 41-year-old Hargobind Tahilramani who is more popularly known as Con Queen of Hollywood from Manchester on November 26 after years-long investigation.&nbsp;

According to a report published in The Hollywood Reporter, Hargobind is an Indonesian man who went by the name Gobind Tahil at the time of the arrest, impersonated powerful female figures, including several Hollywood notables like Amy Pascal and Kathleen Kennedy, and then used these personas to convince people that he will make their careers in the creative arts. He made them travel to Indonesia on the promise of work. Once there, he made them pay for bogus services such as driving, fixing with the promise of reimbursement and then eventually disappearing with their money. He has duped many people in this manner.

Beginning as early as 2015, the hunt for Hargobind has been on for sometime now. He has allegedly lured many people into a series of his impersonation scams. The report states that the scams were sophisticated catfishing operations as he would use accents and voices and allegedly passed himself off as several powerful female executives. By 2017, he was impersonating former Sony chair Amy Pascal, Star Wars producer Kathleen Kennedy and former Paramount boss Sherry Lansing. In addition to Hollywood high-profile people, Hargobind also sought out highly visible people in other areas, including media, politics and international business.&nbsp;

As recently as last month, the Indonesian man was continuing to convince people to send him money.

The Hollywood Reporter states that within the last year, he had impersonated at least two dozen Hollywood names, both men and women, who have worked as producers, directors, casting agents and managers, among them several figures who worked on tentpole Marvel productions.

He made them travel to Indonesia on the promise of work. Once there, he made them pay for bogus services such as driving, fixing with the promise of reimbursement and then eventually disappearing with their money. He has duped many people in this manner. Beginning as early as 2015, the hunt for Hargobind has been on for sometime now. He has allegedly lured many people into a series of his impersonation scams. The report states that the scams were sophisticated catfishing operations as he would use accents and voices and allegedly passed himself off as several powerful female executives. By 2017, he was impersonating former Sony chair Amy Pascal, Star Wars producer Kathleen Kennedy and former Paramount boss Sherry Lansing. In addition to Hollywood high-profile people, Hargobind also sought out highly visible people in other areas, including media, politics and international business. As recently as last month, the Indonesian man was continuing to convince people to send him money. The Hollywood Reporter states that within the last year, he had impersonated at least two dozen Hollywood names, both men and women, who have worked as producers, directors, casting agents and managers, among them several figures who worked on tentpole Marvel productions. Using the bona fides of the people whose identities he impersonated, he convinced many of the marks to travel to Indonesia on lavish promises of work and huge budgets. She said, “I honestly feel that to be nominated by your peers is about as good as it gets. And then, I’ve never understood how you could honestly compare performances, you know? The animated sequel to 2013’s unexpected hit “The Croods” surpassed expectations, generating $9.71 million over the weekend and $14.22 million since opening on Wednesday. That’s considered a success in the age of coronavirus, but it’s hardly what Universal was expecting when the studio initially greenlit the follow-up.

“This level of business is a far cry from typical Thanksgiving weekend releases, but success and failure in the middle of a pandemic should be viewed in relative terms,” says Shawn Robbins, chief analyst at Box Office Pro.

To Robbins’ point, past holiday hits were able to play in more than 4,000 theaters nationwide. With the majority of multiplexes closed, including those in major markets like New York and Los Angeles, “The Croods 2” could only screen in 2,211 venues.

Even with those limitations, “The Croods 2” is eyeing a pandemic-era record. Final tallies are usually reported on Monday. If estimates hold, “The Croods: A New Age” would eclipse “Tenet” for the biggest opening weekend since movie theaters reopened. Christopher Nolan’s latest grossed $9.35 million in its first three days of release.

“For this film to outperform expectations in a less-than-half operational market indicates that moviegoers, especially families, miss the big screen experience and are seeking it out where safe and possible to do so,” Robbins says. “The industry still has a challenging road ahead through winter. But Croods’ debut is a preliminary sign of the resilience cinemas can show in the long run.”

Overseas, “The Croods 2” amassed $20.8 million from seven international markets for a global tally of $35 million. China alone accounted for $19.2 million of weekend earnings.

Universal, compared to rivals, has been active in releasing movies during the pandemic. That’s because the studio forged unprecedented deals with AMC Theatres and Cinemark, two of the country’s biggest movie theater chains. Typically, movies play exclusively in theaters for 75 to 90 days before they move to online rental services. But under Universal and AMC’s new agreement, the studio can put new films on premium video-on-demand within weeks of their theatrical debuts. In return, the cinema circuits are expected to get a cut of the digital profits. “The Croods: A New Age” is scheduled to land on home entertainment in time for Christmas.

The Ryan Murphy movie ‘The Prom’ features high-schooler Emma Nolan (Jo Ellen Pellman) taking a stand and a troupe of Broadway actors played by James Corden, Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman and Andrew Rannells seeking to make a splash in small-town Indiana as they come to her aid.

The story follows New York City stage stars Dee Dee Allen (Streep) and Barry Glickman (Corden) who've just suffered a costly Broadway flop when they learn of an Indiana high-school student who's been banned from attending the prom with her girlfriend (Ariana DeBose). Seeking to resurrect their public images, they set off for the midwest, with actors Angie (Kidman) and Trent (Rannells). While the theater stars' self-absorbed activism backfires, they ultimately join forces to give Emma a memorable prom where all are welcome.

In an exclusive report by Vanity Fair, Tom Holland can be seen looking suave in first look photos from his forthcoming film ‘Cherry’ that is both described as volatile and vulnerable. In the film, Tom Holland’s problems only aggravate with solutions like when college doesn't work out, he joins the Army to serve in Iraq as a medic. He returns home haunted and damaged, and starts abusing opioids to blunt his PTSD. To pay for the drugs, he resorts to bank robbery. The more desperate he gets, the more banks he has to rob.

The film ‘Cherry’ is slated to release in theatres on February 26 and then premieres globally on Apple TV+ on March 12.

On the film, Anthony Russo said, “We do think about it as an epic film, and it is very much a person’s life journey. But it does have a little bit of a split personality between being this character study and an epic life cycle.”

They described Cherry as six movies in one, spanning from the mid 2000s to the present. “He travels a great distance over a 15-year period,” Joe Russo said. “The movie’s broken up into six chapters that reflect those different periods, and each one has a different tone. It’s shot with different lenses, different production design. One’s got magical realism. Another chapter is absurdism. Another is horror…There’s a bit of gonzo in it. It’s raw in its tone. He’s a character in an existential crisis.”

The film is based on the 2018 novel by Nico Walker and the screenplay was written by the filmmakers’ sister, &nbsp;Angela Russo-Otstot, and Jessica Goldberg.&nbsp;

'Happiest Season,'&nbsp;out on Hulu on Friday and starring Kristen Stewart, breaks the mold as a romantic comedy about a lesbian couple set around the holidays.

Stewart, who is bisexual, says she’s astounded it’s taken this long for a major studio to get behind such a film.

“I would have loved to have grown up with a movie like this. But the fact that I’m 30 years old and I’m in it - I feel really lucky to be in the first film, but I’m also baffled that it is,” Stewart said.

Stewart plays Abby, who’s been in a relationship with Harper (Mackenzie Davis) for more than a year when Harper invites her to her family home for Christmas. On the way there, Harper reveals that her parents don’t know she’s gay and Abby has to pretend to be Harper’s straight roommate.

“Happiest Season” director and co-writer Clea Duvall said she felt there were was gap in the market for LGBT films with a light touch.

“I don’t think it always has to be this big heavy story,” she said. “We deserve big, bright, bold romances ... where you can have a real happy ending.”

Set against the backdrop of Jodhpur, the story also features the eight-year-old Meena, voiced by Sairah and her working mother who nurses COVID infected patients.&nbsp;

The comic book series is now in its fourth edition and is titled ‘Priya’s Mask’ as it tackles the COVID-19 pandemic.

It will also feature the voice of Sairah Kabir, daughter of Indian filmmaker Kabir Khan.&nbsp;

The series was created by US-based media house Rattapallax founder, documentary filmmaker and technologist Ram Devineni.

The installment will present a debut alliance between two female comic book superheroes from neighboring countries, with Priya collaborating with the Pakistani female superhero, Burka Avenger, in their fight against the deadly virus.

Scarlett Johnasson and Colin Jost saved up money for the nonprofit Meals on Wheels, with whom the couple partnered in making their Oct.ober 29 “Jost Married,” announcement on Instagram. Meals on Wheels is a US-based charity for elderly people. The charity posted: "Their wedding wish is to help make a difference for vulnerable older adults." They helped generate $10,000 in the couple’s honor. Scarlett and Colin went to extreme lengths to cut costs as they even got Saturday Night Live show’s veteran writer-producers, Steve Higgins, serve as the officiant.
