India's Olympic silver medalist PV Sindhu has set her sights on "changing the colour" of her medal at the World Badminton Championships which begins at Glasgow on Monday.
Sindhu who has won two bronze medals at the World Championshipssaid: "I hope I do well this week and I want a change of colour, I want better than bronze."
On the other side, veteran stars China's Lin Dan and Malaysian Lee Chong Wei are keen to leave their mark at Glasgow as age catches up with them.
"There are very many young players coming through, so it is a massive challenge, I would be delighted to win again, but there is a lot of hard work to be done. There are a lot of hard players in the draw," 34-year-old Dan said.
Malaysia's Lee Chong Wei winner of three World Championships silver medals and three Olympic silvers said: "I am very focused, but it is going to be very hard, at the Olympics, there are only two Chinese players, but here there are many more. The draw is very tough but I am going to do my best."
Olympic gold medallist and tournament favourite Spain's Carolina Marin is clearly aiming high but is not weighed down by pressure of her past performance.
