
The first batch of the Indian Cricket Team will depart for New York for the 2024 T20 World Cup on Saturday (May 25) at 10 P.m. from Mumbai. Captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant, Suryakumar Yadav and Kuldeep Yadav are among the marquee players in the first batch that will fly to Dubai first and to New York after that. Meanwhile, vice-captain Hardik Pandya will fly from London to join the Indian Team in New York for the marquee event.
The second lot, including players like Sanju Samson, Avesh Khan, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Yuzvendra Chahal, will depart later. The four mentioned players were part of the Rajasthan Royals side in the ongoing IPL 2024, where they lost to SunRisers Hyderabad in Qualifier 2 in Chennai the other night.
While three RR players are part of the main squad, seamer Avesh Khan is among the four travelling reserves. Alongside him, opener Shubman Gill (Gujarat Titans), Khaleel Ahmed (Delhi Capitals) and Rinku Singh (Kolkata Knight Riders) are the remaining three.

Of all the 19 players picked for the 20-team tournament, Rinku is the only one playing in the IPL 2024 Final.Kolkata will take on Hyderabad in the IPL 2024 Finalon Sunday(May 26).
Newly-appointed Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya flew to London after his side’s dismal campaign this season, where they finished last, winning just four out of 14 matches. Per the latest reports, Pandya will fly from London to join the Indian Team in New York for the T20 World Cup.
Upon landing, the Indian Team will resume training before taking on Bangladesh in their only warm-up tie on Saturday (June 1).
Meanwhile, the Men in Blueare drawnin Group A alongside arch-rivals Pakistan, co-hosts USA, Canada and Ireland; they will open their campaign against Ireland on June 5, taking on Pakistan next in the marquee T20 WC clash on June 9 (Sunday) at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York.
