The Boston Celtics and the Oklahoma City Thunder both won their respective Game 1 in the Conference semifinals in the NBA Playoffs on Tuesday (May 7). While the Celtics beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 120-95, Oklahoma beat the Dallas Mavericks 117-95. Both the teams are poised to make it to the respective conference finals barring a special performance by their opponents.
Jaylen Brown's 32 points led the charge for Boston over Cleveland who lost despite Donovan Mitchell's incredible 33 points. The Celtics never gave a chance to the Cavs across four quarters and kept punishing them with the 3-point barrage. Boston scored 40 points in the first 12 minutes while the Cavs could manage 34 only.

The second quarter was the calmer one with the Celtics scoring just 19 points but the Cavs failed to take the advantage and could score only 15 points. Behind by 10 points at the half-time, the Cavs gave their all in the third quarter but were outscored 33-28 before surrendering 18-28 in the final quarter to lose the game.
The game started evenly with both the teams scoring 23 each in the first quarter. The complexion suddenly changed in the next 12 minutes as Oklahoma dropped 39 points while the Mavs could manage only 30. Trailing by nine points at the start of the second half, Dallas did show glimpse of a comeback as they scored 26 against Oklahoma City's 27.
In the final quarter, Thunder were just too much for the Mavs as Oklahoma City outscore Dallas 28-16 and won the game with a difference of 22 points. For Thunder, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander dropped 29 points along with nine each of rebounds and assists.
For the Mavs, Kyrie Irving scored 20, Luka Doncic dropped 19 and Daniel Gafford managed 16 but all in the vain.
