Bangladesh opener Liton Das slammed his maiden ODI hundred against India in the finals of the Asia Cup 2018 on Friday.
Das survived an early scare after which he showed no signs of fear and took on the Indian opening attack comprising Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
He quickly reached his 50 in 33 balls which included six fours and two sixes. He was dropped on 52 by Chahal off Jadeja.
Courtesy of his knock, Bangladesh got off to a very strong start scoring 100 in 18 overs. While wickets kept tumbling at the other end, Liton held his nerve and registered his maiden ODI ton in 87 balls.
The team on the other hand also created a record. The 120-run opening stand between Das and Mehidy Hasan was Bangladesh’s second-highest against India in one-day games.
