Air India and several other airlines, including Germany's Lufthansa, British Airways, and America's Delta Air Lines, have suspended flights to Tel Aviv following a missile attack close to the Ben Gurion Airport in the Israeli city on Sunday (May 1).
Lufthansa Airlines said that it has suspended its flights to and from Tel Aviv until May 6. British Airways suspended its flights in the region until May 7.
<h2>Air India flight diverted to Abu Dhabi</h2>
An Air India flight from Delhi to Tel Aviv was diverted to Abu Dhabi, news agency PTI reported. The attack occurred less than an hour before the Air India flight AI139, operated with a Boeing 787 aircraft, was to land at the Tel Aviv airport.

According to flight data available on the flight tracking website Flightradar24.com, the aircraft was in Jordanian airspace when it was diverted to Abu Dhabi.
According to Air India, the flight landed normally in Abu Dhabi and will return to Delhi soon.
&ldquo;Air India flight AI139 from Delhi to Tel Aviv of 3 May 2025 was diverted to Abu Dhabi after an incident at Ben Gurion airport this morning. The flight has landed normally in Abu Dhabi and will soon return to Delhi,&rdquo; an Air India spokesperson said.

The flights between Delhi and Tel Aviv will remain suspended till May 6.
&ldquo;Consequently, our operations to and from Tel Aviv will remain suspended with immediate effect till 6 May 2025, to ensure the safety of our customers and staff. Our staff on the ground is assisting customers and helping them with alternative arrangements,&rdquo; the spokesperson said.

<h2>Missile attack on Tel Aviv airport</h2>
Earlier today, air traffic to the country&rsquo;s main airport in Tel Aviv was briefly halted following a missile strike from Yemen, said Israeli police.

The flights and other activities near the airport were expected to resume after final searches by officers, reported AP, citing police.

Although the gauge did not pass through Dhoni's bat cleanly, he still got a nod from the on-field umpire to continue.

Furthermore, edge width must not be more than 1.56 inches (4 cm) and the total height of the bat from the handle down to the base cannot be more than 38 inches (96.4 cm).
There has been no official word from the BCCI regarding whether any violation of bat dimension contradictions have led to these random checks.
The consequences of bat dimensions in regards to modern cricket today is actually severe considering that even a poor shot has the potential to sail a long way into the stands of the stadium. A resident of Kashi (Varanasi), Baba Sivanand was known for his disciplined lifestyle centred around yoga, meditation, and spiritual practice. His dedication to holistic wellness and traditional Indian values earned him national recognition when he was awarded the Padma Shri in 2022 for his exceptional contribution to society through yoga.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also paid his respects.
In a post on X in Hindi (loosely translated), he wrote, "The demise of Kashi's renowned yoga guru 'Padma Shri' Swami Shivanand ji, who made an unparalleled contribution in the field of 'Yoga', is extremely sad. Humble tribute to him! Your spiritual practice and life of yoga is a great inspiration for the entire society. You dedicated your entire life to the expansion of yoga. IPL 2025: Kagiso Rabada serving suspension after testing positive for recreational drug

India continued its offensive against Pakistan on Saturday and announced a slew of tough decisions that will severely impact the economy of the neighbouring country over its continued support to cross-border terrorism following the Pahalgam terror attack.
India imposed an immediate ban on all direct and indirect import of goods from Pakistan with immediate effect &ldquo;in the interest of national security and public policy&rdquo;. The decision was announced via a notification of the directorate general of foreign trade (DGFT) and has been incorporated into the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) 2023. The new FTP provision says, &ldquo;Direct or indirect import or transit of all goods originating in or exported from Pakistan, whether or not freely importable or otherwise permitted, shall be prohibited with immediate effect until further orders.&rdquo;&nbsp; Any exception will require explicit approval from the government, it added.

&ldquo;A ship bearing the flag of Pakistan shall not be allowed to visit any Indian port. An Indian flag ship shall not visit any Ports of Pakistan. A Sri Lankan Airlines flight arriving from Chennai was subjected to a comprehensive security search at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Colombo on Saturday. The special security operation was carried out after Indian intelligence flagged potential suspects linked to the Pahalgam terror attack.
The airline confirming the operation in a statement said, "Flight UL 122, operated by aircraft 4R-ALS, which arrived in Colombo from Chennai at 11:59 hrs today (3 May), was subjected to a comprehensive security search upon arrival. This was carried out in coordination with local authorities following an alert from the Chennai Area Control Centre regarding a suspect wanted in India who was believed to be on board."
"The aircraft was thoroughly inspected and subsequently cleared for further operations. However, as a result of the mandatory security procedure, the next scheduled service, Flight UL 308 to Singapore, has been delayed.
"The safety and security of our passengers and crew remain our highest priority, and we strive to ensure that the highest standards of safety are consistently maintained," the airline further said.
