
An infant in the Indian city of Chennai fell from the fourth floor of her apartment on Sunday (Apr 28) and landed on a tin roof two storeys down. Nowavideo of the baby's rescue from the roof has gone viral on social media. The video, around 2 minutes and 20 seconds long, was shared on X byRengaraj Mr, who said that his cousin lived at the apartment complex where the shocking incident occurred.
The video showsresidents screaming for help as a few menjust below the apartment can be seen working towards rescuing the infant. Apart from this, a few residents on the ground floor held a big piece of cloth, perhaps a bedsheettocatch the baby.

The baby could be heardcrying. One of the men inside the apartmentbelowthe tin roof, climbed the apartment's balconyrailing to reach the baby. Two other men held this man steady as he reached for the seven-month-old.
The man standing on the railing extended his right hand and got hold of the baby.She was finally rescuedandthe residents let out a sigh of relief.
Speaking to NDTV, Avadi Police Commissioner Shankar saidthat theincident occurred at VGN Stafford, a residential community. Shankar said the baby fell while her mother was nursing her on their apartmentbalcony.
The top police official added that the copsdid not receive anyformal complaint and the baby was doing fine.
