For those who love their daily cup of tea and would not mind experimenting with it, a tea shop in Pune is in news for its take on the country's best-loved beverage.
Pune's tea shop is now serving 'Tandoori Tea' which is created by roasting kulhads (clay pots) in a pre-heated tandoor. Semi-cooked tea is then poured into the extremely hot kulhads.
"We let it bubble and once done, the chai gets a smoky flavour," the shop owner shared.
The local tea-selling, called Chai La, shop quietly nestles away in a by-lane of Kharadi, opposite Zensar building in Pune and is pulling scores of tea-lovers from all across for a sip of its Tandoori Chai. For those who love coffee, the shop also offers Tandoori Coffee.
Priced at just 20 bucks, the beverage carries a smoky flavour along with subtle hints of spices that go into the secret recipe.
