Maldives foreign minister Abdulla Shahid in his message said Sushma Swaraj was a "stateswoman extraordinaire" and "diplomat par excellence".

Former Afghanistan president while expressing his condolences said: "Deeply saddened to hear of the loss of Behinji Sushma Swaraj. She was a tall leader and a great orator and people’s person."
"My profound condolences to the people of India and her family and friends," the former Afghanistan president said.
The former external affairs minister passed away after a cardiac arrest on Tuesday night. Sushma Swaraj will be cremated on Wednesday afternoon at Lodhi road crematorium with full state honours, the BJP announced late on Tuesday night.
