The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday filed a complaint with the Election Commission (EC) on Saturday against Congress leader Raj Babbar.

According to reports, the complaint has been filed as Babbar allegedly made derogatory comments against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah.

The BJP also accused Raj Babbar of violating the Model Code of Conduct for the elections. 

According to news agency ANI, Babbar, during a rally in Udaipur on Friday, reportedly said that two people from Gujarat were running a "gang" in Delhi.

Raj Babbar had previously compared the rupee slide with the age of PM Modi's mother.

The Prime Minister retorted, "When one doesn't have real issues to talk about, he resorts to abusing somebody else's mother."

Rajasthan is slated to go to polls on Friday. The result for the 200-member Rajasthan assembly will be announced on December 11.
