The mother of the junior trainee doctor raped and murdered at the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital has lashed out at Mamata Banerjee after the West Bengal chief minister issued rather threatening remarks towards the protesting doctors.
The mother of the victim said she did not 'like' what Mamata said in one of her rallies. The CM allegedly told the protesting doctors that their careers would be ruined if an FIR was filed against any of them.
"I didn't like what she [Mamata]said yesterday. The whole world stands by my daughter. They are protesting, agitating for justice. And she says we do not want justice," the mother was quoted as saying by ANI.
"I want them (protestors) to continue the movement until they get justice. The Chief Minister said the family does not want justice! Mamata has no son or daughter herself, so she cannot understand the pain of losing a child. We are very hurt by her comments," she further said.

During the foundation day rally of the students wing of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Wednesday (Aug 28), Mamata asked the protesting doctors to return to their duties.
“I support the junior doctors’ agitation. They are protesting because their colleagues have been raped and murdered. We will not take any action against you, but I appeal to you to join work. The Supreme Court also requested the doctors to join work,” Mamata said.
“The Supreme Court had also appealed to junior doctors to join work. One must remember that the SC said that it was up to the state government to take action. We didn’t take action. If an FIR is filed against you, your future will be ruined. He or she won’t get a passport or visa,” she added.
After the controversy snowballed, Mamata on Thursday (Aug 29), released a lengthy post on social media, explaining that she never threatened the doctors.
The TMC leader said she spoke against the BJP in her speech because they had been threatening democracy in the state.
