Jammu and Kashmir Lok Sabha Election Result 2024:Former chief ministers Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufticonceded defeat in the Lok Sabha elections on Tuesday (Jun 4).
While Omar Abdullah lost the seat to Engineer Rashid of Awami Itihad Party (AIP), Mehbooba Mufti was defeated by National Conference (NC) candidate, Mian Altaf Ahmad.
Mehbooba Mufti said in her post on X, "Respecting the verdict of the people I thank my PDP workers & leaders for their hard work & support despite all the odds. My deepest gratitude to the people who voted for me. Winning & losing is part of the game & wont deter us from our path."

In the Srinagar Lok Sabha seat, Syed Ruhullah Mehdi of the NC won against his PDP rival, Waheed Parra.
BJP won both the seats it was contesting as Jugal Kishore Sharma defeated Raman Bhalla of the Congress in the Jammu Lok Sabha seat and Dr Jitendra Singh beat Choudhary Lal Singh of the Congress in Udhampur Lok Sabha seat.
J&K has five Lok Sabha seats - Baramulla, Srinagar, Anantnag–Rajouri, Udhampur, Jammu, while the UT of Ladakh has one.
J&K recorded the highest voter turnout in a Lok Sabha poll in the last 35 years. Whilethe Kashmir Valley witnessed a huge 30-point jump in poll participation compared to 2019. The combined voter turnout at the polling stations for the entire Union Territory with five Lok Sabha seats was 58.46 per cent, as per the election commission data.
