One terrorist shot dead by security forces in J&K's Kathua
Two days after terrorists targeted a bus carrying pilgrims in Reasi andkilled 10 aboard the vehicle, security forces on Tuesday evening (June 11), shot dead one terrorist in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir.
The development comes amid a massive operation to neutralise terrorists from the region.
The terrorists hit Saida Sukhal village near Koota Mode in the Hiranagar sector on Tuesday evening, reported news agency PTI citing a police spokesperson.
The official said that in the subsequent search operation, one of the terrorists was shot dead.
Union Minister Jitendra Singh said that he was in touch with top civil and police officials in the district.
“I am in continuous online contact with DC (deputy commissioner) Kathua Sh Rakesh Minhas in the wake of the terrorist attack on a house in village Saida in Hiranagar sector close to the International Border," he said.

"I am also in touch with SSP Kathua Sh Anayat Ali Choudhary who is on the spot. The owner of the house that was attacked (name not to be disclosed) is also in touch on mobile phone. Joint police & para military operation is going on…,” the minister wrote on ‘X'.
He also confirmed that one terrorist was killed so far.
The officials said that the police were immediately rushed to the village after suspicious movement of three persons was reported in the area around 7.45 pm.
They said that the villagers had raised alarm after hearing gunshots in the area.
Reasi police release sketch of terrorist, announce reward
Meanwhile, Reasi police announced a reward of rupees 20 Lacs (23,921.66 USD) for any fruitful information about the whereabouts of terrorist involved in the recent attack on the bus carrying Hindu pilgrims.
The sketch of militant has been prepared on the disclosure and description of eyewitnesses.
