Too many women are told what not to do or what they can't do, noted Cherie.
The second day of the Global Entrepreneurship Summit 2017 opened with a plenary session attended by Ivanka Trump, Advisor to the President of the United States, Cherie Blair, Founder, Cherie Blair Foundation for Women, CBE, QC; Chanda Kochhar, Managing Director and CEO, ICICI Bank, Limited and Karen Quintos, Chief Customer Officer, Dell EMC as panellists. The session was moderated by Mr K.T. Rama Rao, Minister for IT E&C.
As the panellists went on to discuss ways in which women entrepreneurship can be promoted across the globe and talked about skill-training, Cherry Blair noted one of the hurdles faced by India with respect to promoting female entrepreneurship and boosting the economy.
"I think close to 67% women don't go on to contribute to the economy after graduation in India, this is a huge setback," she noted.
She also noted the rate of working women in India to be abysmally low at the global level.
Ivanka Trump, on the other hand, spoke about the "abysmal rate of women participation in computer sciences and engineering". "Women have a lower rate of participation at higher levels when it comes to STEM fields," Ivanka Trump.

"Too many women are told what not to do or what they can't do. Capital is a big issue for women entrepreneurs. Getting money is very difficult," shared Cherie Blair.
