Bollywood actor Salman Khan was sentenced to 5 years in prison by Jodhpur trial court in 1998 blackbuck poaching case for killing two blackbucks (endangered antelopes) in Kankani village, Rajasthan. His bail plea will be heard today at Jodhpur Sessions Court.

Acting upon a case registered by the Bishnoi community of Rajasthan, the trial court pronounced its judgement on the case, finding him guilty after 20 years. While animal right's groups and others have been jubilant at the judgement, Salman Khan's fans across the globe and the Bollywood fraternity have expressed their shock and dismay.
