Bollywood star Salman Khan spent Thursday night in jail after a Jodhpur trial court found him guilty in 1998 blackbuck poaching case and sentenced him to 5 years in prison.
The Jodhpur Session Court will now hear the bail application of Salman’s defence on Friday at 10:30 am.

While Salman was convicted by the trial court, all others accused including Saif Ali Khan, Neelam Kothari, Tabu, Sonali Bendre were acquitted. The actors left from Jodhpur right after the verdict was pronounced.
Salman, apart from being sentenced to 5 years has also been slapped a penalty of Rs. 10,000. The actor was accused of killing two blackbucks in the Kankani village near Jodhpur in 1998 during the shooting of the film 'Hum Saath Saath Hain'. He was charged under Section 51 of the Wildlife (Protection) Act and others under Section 51 read with Section 149 (unlawful assembly) of the Indian Penal Code.
