"Everything is absolutely alright between me and my husband, Sachin. Our entire family is staying happily and peacefully. I am in India. I am in Uttar Pradesh and the chief minister of the state, Yogi Adityanathji will never allow any kind of atrocity against any woman," she said.

Police in Uttar Pradesh's Noida, where Seema is based, also said that the viral clip was a deepfake and that she had not been beaten up.

Seema and Sachin, a cross-border love story

Seema Haider, a Pakistani woman, had ventured into India to join Sachin Meena, her online gaming acquaintance-turned-romantic partner.

She had entered India illegally, which prompted intelligence agencies to request a comprehensive report from Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and Uttar Pradesh Police regarding her unauthorised entry.

Travelling from Pakistan's Karachi, she travelled through Nepal to reach Noida, where the couple married and started living together.

Nevertheless, legal repercussions followed, and Seema was arrested in July 2023 for entering India without a visa. Sachin also faced charges for harbouring an illegal migrant.

After five days in jail, the couple was granted bail and were allowed by a court to live together as long as the case against them continued.
