Shannen Doherty, star of Beverly Hills, 90210, dies after battle with cancer

American actress Shannen Doherty is no more. The actress, who is known for her work in the series Beverly Hills, 90210and Charmed, has died after her nine-year battle with breast cancer. The actressbreathed her last in the presence of her loved ones. She was 53.
Doherty's death was confirmed by her publicist Leslie Sloane. “It is with a heavy heart that I confirm the passing of actress Shannen Doherty. On Saturday, July 13, she lost her battle with cancer after many years of fighting the disease,” Sloane said in a statement.

"The devoted daughter, sister, aunt and friend was surrounded by her loved ones as well as her dog, Bowie. The family asks for their privacy at this time so they can grieve in peace," Sloane continued.
ShannenDoherty was diagnosed withbreast cancer in 2015. Two years after receiving treatment for the same, she was in remission in 2017. However, in 2020, Doherty announced her cancerhad returned, was at stage 4, and had spread throughout her body, including her bones. Throughout her nine-year battle with cancer, Doherty has openlytalkedabout her fight with the disease.
