After wowing us as Thomas Shelby (Tommy) in Netflix’s Peaky Blinders, the show is now making a comeback as a film and we can’t keep calm as Cillian Murphy reprises his fan-favourite role. Peaky Blinders is a Birmingham gangster drama created by Steven Knight that has now been adapted into a feature-length film.
The new Peaky Blinders film is directed by Tom Harper and is set a few years after the end of the series. The new film is now officially in production as the first look image starring Cillian made it to the internet.
What we know about the new Peaky Blinders film
The film follows a six-season series with Cillian Murphy, Paul Anderson, Helen McCrory, Tom Hardy, and Joe Cole leading the cast. So far, only Barry Keoghan and Rebecca Ferguson have been confirmed in the ensemble cast.
Netflix announced the show starting production and captioned it, "By order of the Peaky Blinders. Tommy Shelby is back. Cillian Murphy and Steven Knight are reunited on set as production officially starts on the upcoming Netflix film."

Cillian Murphy in a statement said, “This is one for the fans.”
Peaky Blinders ended with a six-season run in 2022. Right after, Cillian took up the role of Oppenheimer in which he played the scientist who is considered the father of the atomic bomb. Cillian went on to win Best Actor in a Leading Role Oscar at the Academy Awards. The film was helmed by Christopher Nolan.
In addition to this, you can enjoy Cillian Murphy's latest work – Small Things Like These, which is set to release on November 1 in the UK and November 8 in the US. It depicts the horrors of Ireland's church's abusive workhouses for unwed mothers.
