Media tycoon Ramoji Rao laid to rest
Media baron Ramoji Rao has been laid to rest at Ramoji Film City. Rao, the founder of famous Ramoji Film City and ETV Network, passed awayon Saturday (June 8) in Hyderabad at the age of 87.
On Sunday, Rao's last rites were performed at Ramoji Film City with full state honours. TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu and Rao's dear friends, family and entertainment industry bigwigs attended the final journey of the tycoon.
Naidu joined Rao's family and was seen giving a shoulder to the tycoon's mortal remains. In the video shared by ANI, the politician can be seen holding Ramoji's body along with others near the funeral pyre.

Following the death of the Padma Vibhushan awardee, the Andhra Pradesh government declared two-day state mourning on Sunday and Monday (June 9 and 10).

Ramoji's mortal remains were kept at the corporate office building in Ramoji Film City, where a massive crowd gathered to pay their last respects to the Eenadu Group founder. Several prominent politicians and A-listers arrived at Ramoji Film City to offer the media baron their last respects.
South Indian actors such as Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, and Pawan Kalyan, were captured offering their condolences to Rao's family. RRR director SS Rajamouli and music composer MM Keeravaani also paid their last respects to Rao.
Following Rao's death announcement, several prominent personalities including President of India Droupadi Murmu, PM-elect Narendra Modi, superstar Rajinikanth, and Kamal Haasan paid tributes.
Calling him a visionary and indelible mark on journalism, PM-elect Narendra Modi paid tribute to Rao. “The passing away of Shri Ramoji Rao Garu is extremely saddening," Modi shared on X. "He was a visionary who revolutionized Indian media. His rich contributions have left an indelible mark on journalism and the world of films. Through his noteworthy efforts, he set new standards for innovation and excellence in the media and entertainment world.”
