<p>Following the death of the Padma Vibhushan awardee, the Andhra Pradesh government declared two-day state mourning on Sunday and Monday (June 9 and 10).</p>

<p>Ramoji's mortal remains were kept at the corporate office building in Ramoji Film City, where a massive crowd gathered to pay their last respects to the Eenadu Group founder. Several prominent politicians and A-listers arrived at Ramoji Film City to offer the media baron their last respects.</p>

<p>South Indian actors such as Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, and Pawan Kalyan, were captured offering their condolences to Rao's family.<em> RRR </em>director SS Rajamouli and music composer MM Keeravaani also paid their last respects to Rao.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Andhra Pradesh sends 25 members of parliament to Lok Sabha and is one of the states where the BJP has struggled to make a mark but in recent months stepped up efforts to expand its footprint.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The three parties held a meeting in Delhi where the alliance was formalised. Subsequently, a meeting was held in Amravati where the sharing of seats was agreed upon.</p>

<h2><strong>NDA in Andhra Pradesh: Who is getting how many seats?</strong></h2>

<p>The BJP will contest on six of state's 25 Lok Sabha seats, while the TDP will contest on 17 seats. Pawan Kalyan's Jana Sena will contest two seats. For state assembly elections, the BJP will contest on 10 seats while the TDP will contest on 144 seats. The Jana Sena will contest on 21 seats in the state assembly.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"The names of the seats will be announced subsequently by the respective parties. We are driven by a desire to fulfil the expectations of the people of Andhra Pradesh. We are confident that the people of Andhra Pradesh will bless the NDA alliance partners with an opportunity to serve them to the best of our capabilities," the TDP readout added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In other election-related developments, Prime Minister Modi will chair a high-powered committee on selecting election commissioners on March 14. The names of two new election commissioners will reportedly be finalised in this meeting. As per reports, the meeting originally scheduled for March 15 has been preponed by a day.</p>

<p>After this, Naidu immediately cancelled his local public meeting and visited the hospital to express his condolences.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to the Twitter post by the TDP, Naidu has announced financial assistance of Rs 10 lakhs ($12,084) to the families of the deceased. Also, his party will be providing education for&nbsp;the children of the victims in NTR Trust&nbsp;institutions.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Similar instances of stampedes have occurred in India quite a few times this year claiming the lives of many, and injuring hundreds.</p>

<p>One of the collapses occurred in the Morbi district of Gujarat when a newly renovated cable bridge had collapsed, killing nearly 133. The collapse had happened due to overcrowding. Officials in the instance were able to rescue 177.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Gujarat's&nbsp;Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel had expressed condolences to the families and announced financial assistance of Rs 4 lakhs ($4900) for the families of the deceased and Rs 49,000 ($600) for the injured.</p>
