It was a sweeping win for Charli XCX at the Brit Awards 2025. The singer took home awards in five major categories including the coveted Album of the Year for her record "Brat". She also won the Artist of the Year, Dance Act, Song of the Year for her track “Guess” which features Billie Eilish.

Charli XCX also won the Songwriter of the Year trophy. This award was announced earlier in the week. Sam Fender won the Rock/Alternative Act and performed the title song from People Watching. 

Brit Awards also saw a segment that honoured late singer Liam Payne who died of suspected suicide at a hotel. The host Jack Whitehall led the tribute, and called Liam Payne a "supremely talented musician" and "incredibly nice man." He said, "It is now time to take a moment to remember a very special person who meant so much to many of the people in this room, and to millions of you around the world. Last October, we woke to the devastating news that Liam Payne had tragically passed away.”

Following the introduction, Brit Awards had an emotional video montage honouring Payne's life and career.

Pop star Sabrina Carpenter paid tribute to the British culture as she wore a red sparkly military-style blazer dress before walking down an aisle lit up with the Union flag. All this while performers in military parade dress followed her.

Brit Awards took place at The O2 Arena in London, and was hosted by comedian Jack Whitehall for a fifth time.
