Salman Khan firing incident: Mumbai Police invoke MCOCA against four accused

The probe into the shooting outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan's home is underway. As per recent updates, the Mumbai police crime branch has invoked a few sections of the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against all the accused in the case.

So far, four arrests have been made in the incident, including two shooters Sagar Pal and Vicky Gupta, who fired gunshots outside Salman's Galaxy apartments on April 12. Apart from the shooters,two men Sonu Subhash Chander and Anuj Thapan, who allegedly supplied arms to the shooters have been booked under MCOCA.

As per an Indian news agency, “All accused have been booked under Sections 3(1)(2), 3(1)(3), and 3(1)(4) of MCOCA.”

Sharing more about the case, Joint Commissioner of Police and Crime, Lakhmi Gautam told The Indian Express, “We have invoked the relevant sections of MCOCA against gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and his gang members who are accused in the case. The case will now be transferred to an ACP rank officer for further investigation.”

Earlier this week, the crime branch issued a look-out circular (LOC) notice against wanted accused Anmol Bishnoi, the brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.

Anmol has allegedly taken responsibility for the firing. As permedia reports, Anmol took to social media to wrote, "We want peace. If the only decision against oppression is war, then so be it. Salman Khan, we have only shown you a trailer so that you understand the magnitude of our strength and do not test it. This is the first and last warning. After this, shots will not be fired outside the house only. And we have dogs named after Dawood Ibrahim and Chota Shakeel, whom you consider to be Gods. Now, I don't have the habit of talking much."

Lawrence Bishnoi and his brother Anmol Bishnoi have been named the main accused in the firing case. Lawrence is currently in Sabarmati Central Prison in Gujarat. Mumbai police are trying to take the jailed gangsters in theircustody.
