New update in Salman Khan firing case

It’s been a rather difficult week for Bollywood star Salman Khan after two men opened fire outside his Mumbai apartment. After the police got proactive and nabbed the two men, it was found that they first did a thorough recce of the area around his home and farmhouse before shooting outside his apartment.

As the investigation continues, police have now got hold of a gun that was used in the firing episode that took place on April 14. The two men, Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal, confirmed to police that they both had a gun each which they threw in the Tapi river in Gujarat and they ran and sought refuge in the state. The two accused were arrested from Gujarat’s Bhuj district after shooting outside the actor’s house in the Bandra area of Mumbai.

The two men who are currently in police custody revealed that they threw the weapon in the Gujarat river which led to the police scouting the area. The police are currently on the hunt for the second weapon. The two accused will stay in custody until April 25. Further investigations are on, and a third person was detained in Haryana in connection with the case as he was in touch with both shooters.

Links to gangster Lawrence Bishnoi

Meanwhile, the Mumbai Crime Branch has declared jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and his younger brother Anmol Bishnoi as "wanted accused" in the case. Lawrence Bishnoi is currently incarcerated in Gujarat's Sabarmati central prison, while his brother is believed to be residing in either Canada or the US.

Salman travels in a bulletproof vehicle now and has a gun license

Earlier, Salman Khan was seen returning to Mumbai after attending an event in Dubai. Salman Khan has now been given a tighter ring of security. He travels in a bulletproof vehicle and is manned by even more security personnel at all times. Salman Khan has also been granted a gun license for personal security.

After the incident, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde also met the actor and his father, Salim Khan. He also spokewith the Mumbai Police Commissioner to take stock of the security of the actor.
