Bigg Boss Kannada 10 contestant arrested for wearing tiger claw pendant, violating Wildlife (Protection) Act

Varthur Santhosh, a contestant onBigg Boss Kannada 10 (a spinoff of the international reality series Big Brother),was arrested on Sunday for wearing a pendant containing an alleged tiger claw inside the Bigg Boss house, following a complaint lodged with the forest department.
Bengaluru Urban Deputy Conservator of Forests, N Ravindrakumar, confirmed the arrest while speaking to The Indian Express. He stated that a forest department team visited the shooting location and found the pendant to indeed contain a tiger claw. This arrest comes in violation of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972, which strictly prohibits the wearing or display of any animal parts.
“After receiving the information, we went to the place where the shooting was taking place. We asked the staff to send Santosh out and when we checked the pendant, it was confirmed that it was a tiger claw. We took him into custody,” he told The Indian Express.
Santhosh, known for his involvement in the cattle trade and real estate in Varthur, Bengaluru, gained entry to Bigg Boss through his social media popularity. Viacom 18, the parent company of Colors Kannada, the channel broadcasting Bigg Boss, declined to comment on the situation.
