Ben Affleck turned 52on August 15, and this year, the actor had a low-key birthday celebration with his children. On his special day, the Batman actor chose to stay out of the limelight, remainingat his home.
For the past few months, rumours of Affleck'ssplit from his wife Jennifer Lopez have been all around the headlines. The actor has stepped out of their Beverly Hills mansion and is currently living in a rental home in Brentwood, California.
While being plagued by the rumours, Affleck stayed inside his new abode and had a small birthday celebration with his children.
Sharing the details, a source told PEOPLE that Affleck marked his 52nd birthday with a "small birthday celebration at home" with his kids.
"It's exactly what he wanted. He didn't want to go out to celebrate. The kids had gifts for him, and it was cute," says the source.

Affleck is the father of three kids Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12. He shareskids with ex-wife Jennifer Garner, who was also spotted outside the actor's home on his birthday.
"The kids were with Ben for most of the day. He didn't leave the house at all for his birthday," the insider says.
The source has also revealed that "Jennifer [Lopez] stopped by to congratulate him." As per several reports, the actress was spotted outside Affleck's house on his birthday.
Casually dressed, the actress wore a brown jacket pairedwith blue jeans.
Ben's low-key birthday celebration comes after JLo hosted a Bridgerton-themed party to celebrate her 55th birthday with close friends and family. The AIR actor skipped Lopez's birthday last month.
The couple have refrained from sharing any reaction to the divorce rumours. However, if reports are to be believed, Ben and Jennifer have finalized their divorce. An inside source has told Daily Mail that the couple's divorce documents "are finalized, but not yet turned in."
They added, "They finalized the divorce papers with her a month ago, but are waiting for the right time to drop them.''
