The warrant was issued after Centaurus Lifestyle Brands Pvt Ltd., of which Uthappa is the director, failed to deposit provident funds of over INR 20 lakh (2 million).

"In light of recent news of the PF case against me, I would like to provide some clarification with regards to my involvement with Strawberry Lenceria Pvt. Ltd., Centaurus Lifestyle Brands Pvt. Ltd., and Berryz Fashion House," wrote Uthappa in a statement issued on social media platform X.

"In 2018-19, I was appointed as a director in these companies due to my financial contributions to them in the form of loans. However, I did not have an active executive role, nor was I involved in the day-to-day operations of the businesses. Given my demanding schedule as a professional cricketer, TV presenter, and commentator, neither did I have the time nor expertise to participate in their operations. In fact, I do not play an executive role in any other companies I have funded, till date.

"Regrettably, these companies failed to repay the funds I lent them, leading me to initiate legal proceedings, which are currently sub judice. I also resigned from my directorships several years ago.

"When the Provident Fund authorities issued notices demanding payment of dues, my legal team responded, highlighting that I had no role in these companies and provided documentation from the companies themselves confirming my lack of involvement. Despite this, the Provident Fund authorities have continued with proceedings, and my legal advisors will take the necessary steps to resolve this matter in the coming days." the statement further read.

The police, when arrived to deliver the order, found out that Uthappa has vacated the address mentioned on the warrant, according to a Times of India report.

As no formal complaint has been filed yet in the case so no FIR has been issued so far, the TOI further reported.

Sediqullah Atal, fresh from a maiden ODI century on Thursday, top-scored with 52 as Afghanistan cruised to 131 for two in just 26.5 overs and completed a white-ball double after a Twenty20 series win.  
It was the seventh ODI series triumph for Afghanistan over Zimbabwe with one drawn.
"It is wonderful to see youngsters like Allah coming into the team and making such a big impact," Shahidi told reporters.
"Allah is doing very well for the team and, hopefully, he can maintain this momentum and bowl well going forward."
Wreaking havoc with his off-break deliveries, Ghazanfar continued a memorable year in which he was part of the Kolkata Knight Riders squad that won the Indian Premier League.
Star leg spinner Rashid Khan also tormented the hosts, taking three for 38 as the fragility of the Zimbabwe batters was exposed again. They were all out for 54 two days ago.

India-Pakistan matches hosted by either country at ICC Events during the period will be played at a neutral venue. The decision marks a major development in cricketing ties between both countries, which have been affected due to the strained political relations over the last two decades.
<h2>What led to the breakdown?</h2>
India and Pakistan's cricketing ties have always been complex. There was no cricket played between the two countries between 1962 and 1977 due to two major wars in 1965 and 1971. Subsequently, there was regular cricket between the two nations till 1999, when there was another suspension due to the Kargil war.
However, a peace process was initiated by Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf in 2004 which led to India touring Pakistan for the first time in 14 years. That launched arguably the most successful period of cricket diplomacy between India and Pakistan. Pakistan also toured India in 2007, but things took a turn for the worse the very next year.
The Indian cricket team has not travelled to Pakistan since the 2008 Asia Cup, which took place a few months before the 26/11 Mumbai attack. Pakistani terrorists from Lashkar-e-Taiba killed at least 166 people after which both cricketing and political ties have been tense.
The 2009 terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team in Lahore further put a question mark on Pakistan's ability to provide security to traveling teams. The incident led to a decade-long suspension of Test matches in the country and cost Pakistan its co-hosting rights for the 2011 Cricket World Cup- which was hosted and won by India.
There was a brief attempt at revival with a bilateral series held in India in 2012/13, but subsequent attempts have been blocked. For any series to take place between India and Pakistan, the BCCI now requires clearance from the Indian Government. Test cricket has returned to Pakistan in 2019 with the series against Sri Lanka. Heavyweights Australia, England and New Zealand have all toured Pakistan since, but a bilateral series with India remains off the table.

The clothing company is based out of Bengaluru and has INR 23,36,602 (approx 2.3 million) in dues to PF department. Uthappa has till 27 December to pay the dues or face arrest.

"You are kindly requested to execute the enclosed warrant of  arrest for Robin Uthappa, director of the establishment, through the station in charge under whose jurisdiction the employer resides," it further added.
The police, when arrived to deliver the order, found out that Uthappa has vacated the mentioned address.
"We received the letter from the PF office a week ago, requesting the execution of the arrest warrant. Uthappa previously lived in an apartment on Wheeler Road in Pulakeshinagar. Our staff visited the address and learned that he vacated the property a year ago and now resides in Dubai," read a report by news outlet Times of India, citing a police officer in the case.
As no formal complaint has been filed yet in the case so no FIR has been issued so far, the TOI further reported.

"We just hope that we get a better all-rounder and bowler than Ashwin. It's not like nobody can replace a player. Everyone goes, but you do get the replacement. We have to move on. In India, we always have good talents; it is not like anyone is irreplaceable. We will have to move on. It is a golden opportunity for any youngster to grab this opportunity," said Jadeja while talking to the reporters outside Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Saturday (Dec 21).

Former India cricketer Robin Uthappa has landed in a controversy after an arrest warrant was issued against him. The warrant was issued after Centaurus Lifestyle Brands Pvt Ltd., of which Uthappa is the director, failed to deposit provident funds in excess of INR 20 lakh (2 million).

The clothing company is based out of Bengaluru and has INR 23,36,602 (approx 2.3 million) in dues to PF department. Uthappa has till 27 December to pay the dues or face arrest.

"We received the letter from the PF office a week ago, requesting the execution of the arrest warrant. Uthappa previously lived in an apartment on Wheeler Road in Pulakeshinagar. Our staff visited the address and learned that he vacated the property a year ago and now resides in Dubai," read a report by news outlet Times of India, citing a police officer in the case.

As no formal complaint has been filed yet in the case so no FIR has been issued so far, the TOI further reported.

With the apex body announcing the hybrid model for the eight-team tournament scheduled originally in Pakistan during the February-March window next year, Miandad said the Pakistan board has gained more with this decision than its counterpart BCCI.
After the Indian Cricket Board sent a formal refusal, emailing the ICC about their decision not to send Team India across the border due to security concerns, the ICC began mulling alternative options, mainly adopting the hybrid model, to have everyone on the same page.

Per the schedule, Pakistan will host the 2025 CT, while India will host next year’s Women’s T20 World Cup, alongside co-hosting the next T20 World Cup (with Sri Lanka) in 2026. 
“I think the PCB took the sensible approach, and instead of doing something rash and facing isolation in the ICC and among other cricket nations, it opted for a solution where I think the PCB has gained more than the BCCI,” Miandad said, as quoted by the Indian Express. 
“Still, Pakistan is hosting a big event after a very long time, and we have sent a clear message that if you don’t come and play in our country, we will also not play in India,” the former batting great noted.
Meanwhile, upon deciding the neutral venue for the upcoming tournament, which will host all India matches, preferably Dubai, the ICC will announce the much-awaited schedule for the tournament. 
Per earlier reports, February 19 to March 9, 2025, is the proposed window for this ICC event.
