The Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) mega auctions took centre stage for day 1 on Sunday (Nov 24) as the franchises splashed the cash on big names like Rishabh Pant, Jos Buttler and others. While foreign players were the attraction in the auction, it was the Indian players who gathered headlines, with Pant breaking the IPL record for most expensive player with a price tag of $3.2 million and Shreyas Iyer being the second-most expensive with $3.1 million.
