Harare, Zimbabwe
India skipper Shubman Gill has been criticised by fans for 'not letting Yashasvi Jaiswal complete his 100' in the fourth T20I against Zimbabwe on Saturday (Jul 13).
Gill remained unbeaten on 58 off 39 balls while Jaiswal was not out on 93 as India chased down 153-run target without losing a wicket. Here's below how fans reacted on social media:
Gill Pulling a Babar Azam?
Shubman Gill started batting very slowly and only began hitting shots when the target was near. It's clear that Gill didn't want Abhishek Sharma or Sanju Samson to get a chance to bat. ?

Shubman Gill Today:
1. Sacrifice Abhishek Sharma for own
2. Played slow to ensure Sanju Samson, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Rinku Singh can't bat.
3. robbed Yashasvi Jaiswal's Hundred
4. Complete Babar Azam

Why do we need selfish players like Shubman Gill who can't play for the team.
I had a doubt on him since he made Rohit Sharma runout against Afghanistan.
Abhishek Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal deserve a good captain.#IndvsZim pic.twitter.com/CNYABwqp1i

Jaiswal was on 83 and Gill was batting on 41 when India needed 25 off 42 balls. Gill then went to score seven runs in the next over including a boundary and kept the strike after taking a single on fifth ball of the 14th over.
In the 15th over, Gill reached his fifty on the first ball with a double and hit a six next ball. Jaiswal got the strike on the fifth ball of the over and hit a six as well - leaving India two runs to win and Jaiswal on 89.
India won the match on the second ball of the second over with Jaiswal hitting four after Gill took a single on the first ball. With the win, India took an unassailable 3-1 lead in the five-match series.
Earlier, India won the toss and elected to field first in Harare. Zimbabwe had a good start though, scoring 44 runs in the powerplay without losing a wicket.
Abhishek Sharma eventually broke the partnership in the ninth over with the wicket of Tadiwanashe Marumani. The hosts lost three more wickets in the next six overs and came down to 96/4 from 63/0.
Zimbabwe skipper Sikandar Raza then played a sublime innings of 46 off 28 balls and the team scored 45 runs in the next 3.5 overs. India, however, pulled things back in the last nine balls and restricted Zimbabwe to 152/7 in 20 overs.
