In a statement, Kelly noted his commitment toward the President, his agenda, and the United States
John Kelly, White House Chief of Staff, has denied calling US President Donald Trump an "idiot". Kelly denied the reports doing the rounds describing them as "total BS".
Kelly noted that he spends time with Trump more than anyone else and that they both enjoy an "incredibly candid and strong relationship".
"He always knows where I stand and he and I both know this story is total BS," Kelly stated.
In a statement, Kelly noted his commitment toward the President, his agenda, and the United States. He further added that the reports were just another "pathetic attempt" to distract the administration's "many successes".
A report from a leading American media house stated that Kelly had previously called Trump 'an idiot' multiple times to "underscore his point, according to four officials who say they've witnessed the comments."
Meanwhile, Donald Trump took to Twitter and reacted to the whole episode saying that, "The Fake News is going crazy making up false stories and using only unnamed sources (who don’t exist)".
The Fake News is going crazy making up false stories and using only unnamed sources (who don’t exist). They are totally unhinged, and the great success of this Administration is making them do and say things that even they can’t believe they are saying. Truly bad people!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) April 30, 2018
The White House is running very smoothly despite phony Witch Hunts etc. There is great Energy and unending Stamina, both necessary to get things done. We are accomplishing the unthinkable and setting positive records while doing so! Fake News is going “bonkers!”— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) April 30, 2018
Stephanie Ruhle, one of the journalists who worked on the story retorted, "As one of the people who worked on the story, I can tell you, it is WELL sourced".

As one of the people who worked on the story, I can tell you, it is WELL sourced.
As for “smearing” the President, those on your team recount stories of you (not us) undermining his credibility. https://t.co/oTHDyj1Fif
Former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson was reported to have called Trump a "moron" previously.
