An unidentified prankster placed a portrait of Russian President Vladimir Putin on display this week in Colorado's capitol building in a space originally designated for its President Donald Trump.
The portrait of Vladimir Putin was on put up on an easel underneath the capitol's wall of Presidential portraits.
The Putin's portrait was later removed by a tour guide, but before that state Senator Steve Feinberg, D-Boulder had already tweeted a picture.
The presidential portraits cost about $10,000 and are paid for through donations.
According to media reports, the group that collects private donations for the portraits has not received a single dollar which was needed to hang Trump's picture.

However, local media has reported that in former Presidents, George W Bush and Barack Obama case the group collected the required amount in about four months.
Earlier, Donald Trump became a subject of backlash in the US for failing to confront Putin about interference in the 2016 election at a Helsinki summit on July 16. Following the closed-door meeting between both leaders, in a press conference, Trump also stirred a controversy by endorsing Russia's stance on its non-involvement in the 2016 US presidential election by saying that there was "zero collusion" and that he ran a "clean campaign.
However, later Trump claimed that he misspoke on the issue and said that he "did not see a reason why it would not be Russia."
Meanwhile, on July 25 he also claimed that Russia is planning to meddle the mid-term congressional elections in November to help Democrats win the polls as has been "tough" on them.
