Ukraine on Tuesday (Oct 29) announced a new mobilisation push as reports surfaced of North Korean troops stationed in Russia's Kursk area, with the Pentagon indicating that thousands more Pyongyang soldiers are expected to arrive soon.
Reports citing Western intelligence officers claim that a small number of North Korean troops are already "in action" inside Ukraine.
According to a CNN report citing two officials, "It seems that a good many of them (North Korean troops) are already in action."

Talking to South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol on Tuesday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also highlighted the concerning "internationalisation" of the conflict and the strategic risk posed by North Korean involvement.
"The conclusion is clear: this war is becoming internationalised, extending beyond two countries," said the leader of the war-torn Ukraine.
Yoon, meanwhile, expressed concern about North Korean troops' "unprecedented and dangerous" involvement in the Ukraine war and expressed fears that Pyongyang may gain advanced military technology and combat experience from its alignment with Russia.
At home, Ukraine's the Secretary of Ukraine's National Security Council Oleksandr Lytvynenko told Parliament about Kyiv's plans to recruit an additional 160,000 soldiers amid manpower shortages. The recruitment, as per AFP, would unfold over three months.
Russia forces, as per reports, have seized the mining hub of Selydove in the Donetsk region, where Moscow claims to have taken control of additional villages, including Bogoyavlenka, Girnyk, and Katerynivka. Moscow has reportedly gained over 478 square kilometres in October alone, its largest advance since the early stages of the war. This surge follows the collapse of Ukrainian defences in Avdiivka, a stronghold town, earlier this year.
