US Vice President Kamala Harris on Tuesday (July 9) reiterated her support for Joe Biden. Describing the embattled president as a "fighter" Harris during her speech at a Las Vegas event focused on Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) communitieswarned that Biden's rival, Republican Donald Trump would turn America into a 'dictatorship' if re-elected to the White House.
Speaking at a campaign event in Nevada, Harris referred to questions around Biden's age and the rumours about his ability to lead the country and said: "We always knew this election would be tough, and the past few days have been a reminder that running for President of the United States is never easy."

"But the one thing we know about our president, Joe Biden, is that he is a fighter. He is a fighter, and he is the first to say, when you get knocked down, you get back up," she added.
Harris said that American voters face the "most existential, consequential and important election of our lifetime".
Trump "consistently incites hate," towards the AANHPI communities, she said, stressing,"Someone who vilifies immigrants, who promotes xenophobia, someone who stokes hate, should never again have the chance to stand behind a microphone."
Kamala Harris' statement comes shortly after Mikie Sherrill called on Biden to step aside.
"I realize this is hard, but we have done hard things in pursuit of democracy since the founding of this nation. It is time to do so again," she said on X, formerly Twitter.
Mikie is the seventh house democrat to publicly call on Biden to quit the election race.
