Democrats anxious about Kamala Harris' path to victory in US elections

Months ahead of the United Statespresidential election US President Joe Biden stepped down from being the Democratic nominee and Vice President Kamala Harris became the electoral saviour for the party, but the senior party strategists have reportedly expressed concernthat the Democrats were overconfident about her path to victory.
Now, as the election day approaches, it seems their concerns were well-founded.
Democratic presidential nominee Harris did enjoy a surge of momentum and experienced a significant boost in the polls, compared toBiden.
However, Harris needs to attract voters from beyond the Democraticbase while holding together the fragile coalition that helped Biden win in 2020.

The race is going neck-and-neck in the key swing states, but the poll numbers could be wrong.

According to the polling, Harris is likely to win the popular vote. But, it won't be enough. She has to win key battleground states to winthe Electoral College.
Kamala Harris and Donald Trump are currently locked in a tight race for the popular vote, 48 per cent to 48 per cent, the final national poll by The New York Times and Siena College has found.
The result is not in support of Harris. This comesless than two weeks ahead of the presidential elections on November 5.

While this latest poll offers a glimpse of what is currently happening as the election approaches, the presidential election will be decided in the seven battleground states where Harris and Trump have devoted an overwhelming amount of their time and resources on campaigns, speeches, and rallies.
