Former French President Nicolas Sarkozy is set to learn when and where he will begin serving his 5-year prison sentence for criminal conspiracy in the Libya campaign funding case. Sarkozy, who denies the charges, was convicted for allegedly accepting illegal funds from Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi to finance his 2007 presidential campaign. Despite his appeal, French law mandates enforcement of the sentence. Sarkozy becomes the first former EU head of state to face jail time.
