<p>A father of a seven-year-old girl has decided to sue his daughter’s school for cutting her hair without gaining permission from her parents.</p>

<p>Jimmy Hoffmeyer has accused a librarian and a teacher's assistant of racial discrimination, ethnic intimidation and intentional infliction of emotional distress.</p>

<p>The father has claimed that his daughter’s constitutional rights were violated by forcing her to chop her hair without consulting her parents.</p>

<p>He said his daughter came back home with a major portion of her hair from one side cut, and the parents were shocked as they were completely unaware of this.</p>

<p>The girl’s father has cleared that his daughter’s hair were cut by a fellow classmate on the school bus. When a complaint was filed to the Principal, his daughter’s hair was restyled at a salon to hide the obvious difference in length.</p>

<p>Two days later, however, his daughter once again came home with her hair shorter on the other side. "I asked what happened and said 'I thought I told you no child should ever cut your hair'," Mr Hoffmeyer said at the time. "She said, 'but Dad, it was the teacher'. The teacher cut her hair to even it out."</p>

<p>"We are confident that the facts will prevail given our district's appropriate and aggressive response to the incident and the findings of the third-party investigation that was conducted,"&nbsp;Amy Bond, president of Mount Pleasant Public Schools Board of Education, said.&nbsp;"We will aggressively defend against these baseless allegations in court and will not allow this to distract us from our mission to provide every child a world-class education that prepares them for college and careers."</p>

<p>Her father has claimed that the girl who cut his daughter’s hair was white and so was the teacher who attended the whole situation. The school, however, claims they conducted an independent investigation and found no racial bias in this situation.</p>

<p>Hoffmeyer has lashed back at the school and claimed that neither him, nor his daughter were interviewed or made aware about any investigation. His daughter has resumed her studies at another school now.</p>

<p>In a world record feat, an Australian man with <strong>CRPS</strong> (complex regional pain syndrome) broke the <strong>Guinness World Record</strong> for the longest-held plank.</p>

<p><strong>Daniel Scali </strong>held his position at the plank for 9 hours, 30 minutes and 1 second beating the previous best held by ex-US Marine George Hood, 62, who held out for eight hours, 15 minutes and 15 seconds.</p>

<p>The record was set in<strong> Adelaide</strong>, Australia on August 6. Guinness record acknowledged that Sacali's record was remarkable since his left arm is almost under constant pain.</p>

<p>Sacali wore a <strong>compression band</strong> on his left arm in order to keep the pain at bay as he went after the record.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"It was a full head to toe experience of constant pain. My feet were numb. My knees were burning. My thighs were burning. My left arm felt like it was on fire. But it was all worth it in the end," Scali was quoted by Guinness as saying.</p>

<p>Twitter exploded in celebration after Scali's incredible feat.</p>

China's Zhu Xueying donates 'already peeling' Olympic gold medal to sports museum

<p>Researchers at the University of Sydney have studied a set of patterns and behaviour of octopuses at an Australian site that revealed "targeted throwing" based on social effects in interactions between individuals.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The researchers have observed that throwing of material (shells, silt and other debris) by wild octopuses is common in the particular site, especially female octopuses, who intentionally throw shells and silt at other octopuses, often males making "mating attempts".&nbsp;</p>

<p>Previously, octopuses have displayed the behaviour of spitting and throwing debris at each other in what could be an intentional use of weapons. However, the recent observation sheds light on the social factors behind such "targeted throwing".&nbsp;</p>

<p>The preprint and the non-peer-reviewed article has been posted on bioRxiv and is based on the recording of octopuses in Jervis Bay on the south coast of New South Wales since 2015.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Wild octopuses at an Australian site frequently propel shells, silt, and algae through the water by releasing these materials from their arms while creating a forceful jet from the siphon held under the arm web," abstract of the study read.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Some throws appear to be targeted on other individuals and play a social role, as suggested by several kinds of evidence. Such throws were significantly more vigorous and more often used silt, rather than shells or algae, and high vigor throws were significantly more often accompanied by uniform or dark body patterns," it added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The study further mentioned that a "conspicuous" behaviour observed in the video data involved the coordinated use of arms, web&nbsp;and siphon, by which material was projected through the water column.&nbsp;</p>
