Despite his grandmother's cries from the back, Peters remained focused on finding a safe place to land. He knew he had just minutes to assess his options and decide on a course of action. The pilot was quoted by the media as saying, “I can hear my grandma crying in the back. I'm like I've got to tune her out, focus on what I need to do and get this plane down safely and make sure everybody is OK."</p>

<p>Peters considered landing in the fields below, but being from the area, he knew that they were full of rocks and trees and would likely result in serious injuries and the destruction of the plane. Instead, he chose to land on a stretch of Route 66, a deserted road with no cars in sight.</p>

<p>Even the village mayor Álvarez was impressed. He told The Guardian that if he had figured out who planned the illegal party, he would have hired them to plan the village carnival.</p>

<p>"Frankly it was magnificently organised," Álvarez told the outlet.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to data, over 191 rhinos were poached between 2000 and 2021. The most number of rhinos were poached in 2013 and 2014 when the figure stood at 27. In 2020 and 2021, the number came down and only two rhinos were killed.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The change was made possible after the state BJP government in 2019 decided to constitute a Special Rhino Protection Force to keep a close tab on poaching and its related activities, especially the Kaziranga National Park - home to these majestic creatures.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Hoonigan's official Instagram account announced Ken Block's death in a post on Tuesday. The 55-year-old professional rally driver and Hoonigan co-founder died in a terribly sad snowmobile accident on Monday.</p>

"It’s with our deepest regrets that we can confirm that Ken Block passed away in a snowmobile accident today. Ken was a visionary, a pioneer, and an icon. And most importantly, a father and a husband", Hoonigan said in the statement.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The legendary car drifter and action sports star was recently at his ranch in Utah. Block also posted photos of the snow-covered state to his social media accounts earlier this week.</p>

<p>Some of his last Instagram posts suggest that Block was holidaying with his family. "Christmas from the Blocks, from Baldface Lodge!" he shared in a post from last week. "It was an epic holiday trip. Hope you all had a great holiday!", he added in the same post.</p>

<p>The Japanese government this year will increase the financial aid for child-rearing families moving from the capital Tokyo's metropolitan area to rural areas with declining birthrates and an ageing population.</p>

Japan to pay child-rearing families millions to shift from Tokyo to rural areas

<p>Two Senegal lawmakers have been sentenced to six months each in prison for physically assaulting a female colleague in the nation's parliament last month.</p>

<p>In a December 1 bust-up, videos of which went viral on social media,&nbsp;opposition MPs Mamadou Niang and Massata Samb slapped and then kicked pro-government legislator Amy Ndiaye during a chaotic session of the parliament.</p>

<p>The proceedings over the assault case started on December 19th. In spite of video evidence to the contrary, the two MPs denied having hit Ndiaye. their legal teams also argued that given their status as lawmakers, they were immune from prosecution. However, this defence was rejected by the court.</p>

<p>While the prosecutors had sought a two-year sentence Niang and Samb were only given six-month sentences. Apart from the jail sentences the two legislators have also been handed 100,000 CFA francs ($160) and have been ordered to jointly pay five mn francs (approx $8,100) in damages.</p>

<p>Prosecutor Baboucar Cisse reported that his client was pregnant at the time of the scuffle. Following the incident where she was kicked in her belly, Ndiaye fainted and had to be taken to the hospital for treatment.&nbsp;</p>

Stuart Ford, who runs the Sealife Safari boat tour agency, said, “I think it's a once-in-a-lifetime, first-time-ever thing in Scarborough to see." The Sea Life Scarborough aquarium requested people not to disturb the visiting walrus. They posted on social media, “Please be respectful of his rest and try not to disturb him. While it is a very exciting opportunity for us, naturally they do not like lots of noise and are not familiar with domestic animals so please keep pets on leads and remain a safe distance for your own welfare and his."</p>

She added that the surrounding area was being monitored in case Thor reappears.</p>

<p>Rapper and former member of hip-hop group Three 6 Mafia Gangsta Boo passed away on Sunday, 1 January. According to reports, Boo, whose real name was Lola Mitchell, was discovered dead on Sunday afternoon around 4 pm. The cause of her death has not been revealed yet.&nbsp;The news of her death was confirmed by the hip-hop group founder, DJ Paul K.O.M., who shared a picture of her on Instagram.</p>

Sato, a kindergarten teacher posted a pic of her on Instagram saying that she felt sick and claimed her situation to be "very dangerous."&nbsp;Sato added that the dog was moving around very less and slowly. &nbsp;</p>
