<h2>A Kashmiri by birth&nbsp;</h2>
Vikram Misri is a diplomat from the 1989 batch of the Indian Foreign Service (IFS). Misri, a Kashmiri Pandit, was born in Srinagar. He completed his early schooling at Burn Hall School and DAV School in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir.&nbsp;
He got his Bachelor&rsquo;s degree with Honours in History from the Hindu College, University of Delhi and an MBA from XLRI, Jamshedpur.&nbsp;Misri shares two children with his wife Dolly Misri.&nbsp;

As tensions between India and Pakistan reach new heights and Pakistan resorts to striking civilian areas in India's Jammu and Kashmir, India has started a special train service for people stranded in sensitive areas. This special train service, which has five trains running from Jammu, Udhampur, and Katra to Delhi, has been started keeping in mind the closure of airports.
Speaking to the press, Northern Railways CRPO, Himanshu Shekhar Upadyay stated that the decision has been taken based on Indian Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw's assessment of the situation.

In an attempt to safeguard its religious and cultural heritage, the Government of India sent a legal notice to Sotheby's auction house and British national Chris Pepp&eacute; to halt the auction of Piprahwa gem relics associated with the Buddha.
The auction was scheduled for May 7, 2025, in Hong Kong. It had sparked outrage among Buddhist communities and heritage experts across the globe. 
These relics, referred to as &ldquo;duplicate jewels,&rdquo; constitute the &ldquo;inalienable religious and cultural heritage of India&rdquo;. Sales of these items violate Indian as well as international laws, also the conventions of the United Nations.

These were discovered in 1898 by William Claxton Pepp&eacute;, a British colonial landowner, at the Piprahwa Stupa Site in the present-day Uttar Pradesh, India.
