Ultimate Table Tennis 2024: The fifth season of the Ultimate Table Tennis tournament will kick-start from 22 August 2024. The tournament will see Goa Challengers take on new entrants, Jaipur Patriots in the opening match of the series. A total of 23 ties will take place at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai starting from Thursday to 7 September. A total of eight teams will fight for the coveted title.

Some of the world’s top players will be participating in the tournament, including, World No. 10 Bernadette Szocs, World No. 16 Nina Mittelham, and Nigerian legend, World No. 19 Quadri Aruna. Some of the star Indian paddlers, including Manika Batra (WR 28) and Achanta Sharath Kamal (WR 40), will be joining them in the tournament.

The league will have a total of 48 players, including 16 international players, in action. The first tie will begin at 5:PM IST followed by the second tie that will take place at 7:30 PM IST. The semi-finals of the tournament are scheduled for 5 and 6 September, followed by the final match on 7 September.

UTT 2024 New Format: Explained 

A new format will be followed in the UTT 2024, with the addition of two new teams. The eight teams will be divided into two groups, consisting of four teams for the league stage. Each team will be playing five ties - once against the three teams in the group, and two randomly picked teams from the other group. 

The top four teams on the point table will proceed to the knockout stage. In the semi-finals, the matchups will be Team 1 against Team 4, and Team 2 against Team 3.
