Independence Day 2024: India is all geared up to celebrate its 78th Independence Day on 15 August 2024. A part of Independence Day celebrations is the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign. The campaign was launched under the banner of Azadi ka Amrit Mohatsav in 2022 by the Indian Government with more than five crore selfies uploaded on the website.

This year, the government announced the third edition of the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign on 8 August 2024 which began from 9 August to 15 August 2024. Every year, celebrations with the Indian Flag start a few days before Independence Day. According to the official website of the campaign, the original idea to start the campaign was to let people connect with the Indian Flag by bringing it home and performing the Flag Hoisting.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged people to participate in the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign during his 112th edition of ‘Mann ki Baat’, the monthly radio broadcast.

Furthermore, he took to X (formerly Twitter), asking all the citizens to participate and increase observance of the Indian Flag.

The Indian Government has also announced Tiranga Yatras starting on 13 August across different states of India. The officials have also announced that 14 August will be known as Partition Remembrance Day, with a silent march across all districts.

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar, at the flagging off ceremony of the Har Ghar Tiranga Bike Rally on 13 August, said that this shows our commitment towards Viksit Bharat, and also mentioned that this century is India’s century. The bike rally started from Bharat Mandapam, passing through India Gate and concluded at Major Dhyan Chand Stadium.

Meanwhile, Kanwar Pal, the state minister of Haryana flagged off the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga” marathon in Ambala. He said that this event would encourage patriotism in the citizens.
