<p>During an interview on <em>JioCinema</em>, Hesson explained that not retaining Chahal allowed additional flexibility to RCB which was attempting to secure both him and pacer Harshal Patel in the auction.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“He’s (Chahal) an outstanding bowler and I guess when you come to every cycle you have to decide who are you going to retain. It’s one of those things where if you only retain three players, then that’s an extra four crores in the auction,” Hesson said.</p>

<p>However, once at the auction table, things went south for RCB as the order of player's names up for auction was changed, which pushed Chahal's name down the order.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“That potentially gave us the chance to get both Harshal and Yuzi. But then the order of the auction came up and Yuzuvendra Chahal was at number 65. Because we retained that many players, we were going to get bullied,” said Hesson.</p>

<p>As a result, RCB management took the less-risky call and signed Sri Lanka's Wanindu Hasaranga for Rs 10.75 crores - a decision that didn't age well in hindsight.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Yuzi (Chahal) is one I will be frustrated with until I have finished my career and probably beyond. He is an outstanding bowler," added Hesson.</p>

<p>On Monday (September 18), the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)'s chief selector Ajit Agarkar announced India's squads for the upcoming Australia ODIs, which kicks off on Friday (September 22). There were two squads announced as KL Rahul will lead in the opening two games with regular captain Rohit Sharma, along with vice-captain Hardik Pandya, Virat Kohli and Kuldeep Yadav,&nbsp;returning for the final ODI. While R Ashwin's return has made heads turn, Yuzvendra Chahal continues to miss out and this has not been well-received by former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Axar Patel's injury, during the just-concluded Asia Cup, led to the return of Ashwin and Washington Sundar in the ODI squad.</p>

<p>However, Chahal's omission has left Harbhajan Singh baffled.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Speaking on his YouTube channel, Harbhajan said, “Yuzvendra Chahal should have been here. He has not been given an opportunity. It is beyond my understanding. Either he has fought with someone or he has said something to someone, I don't know. If we talk only about skill, his name should have been there in this team because a lot of Team India players are resting."</p>

<p>With his World Cup dreams looking bleak, Chahal has been busy representing Kent in County Cricket. Meanwhile, Ashwin and Sundar have a wonderful opportunity to perform well in the upcoming three ODIs and stake a claim in the CWC squad.</p>

<p>India's star spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has been signed up by Kent Cricket for the remainder of the County Championship season "subject to regulatory approval".</p>

<p>"Kent Cricket is delighted to announce the signing of India international leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal for the Club’s remaining County Championship matches, subject to regulatory approval," Kent announced in an official statement.</p>

<p>A seasoned white-ball international, Chahal has 87 wickets to date in 33 first-class appearances, with best figures of 6-44 coming for his native Haryana against Hyderabad in India’s Ranji Trophy.</p>

<p>He will be available for selection in Kent’s remaining two home Championship matches against Nottinghamshire and Lancashire, as well as Kent’s away fixture against Somerset.</p>

<p>On joining Kent in first-class cricket until the end of the season, Chahal said, “This is an exciting challenge for me, playing in English county cricket, and one I’m very much looking forward to.”</p>

He did not get a lot of opportunities in red-ball but he batted well in white-ball cricket, especially in the IPL. With him being there, it allows us the option of first having a left-hander whom we can use up the order and go in to play the spinners. He can do that for us," Rohit stated.</p>

<p>Two of India’s premier white-ball spinners – Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal, often known as 'Kul-Cha' among Indian cricket fans, were once the force to reckon with. However, after losing to England during the 2019 World Cup game, this pair got separated as the Indian Team became sceptical about playing wrist spinners in tandem.</p>

<p>Before being taken down for cleaners by English openers Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow, the pair of Kul-Cha together played in 34 games, and after that show, both appeared in just three matches.</p>

<p>Fast forward a few years and both remain in the reckoning for the spots in India Team for the 2023 home World Cup.</p>

<p>Kuldeep, who starred with the ball during the first West Indies ODI in Barbados on Thursday (July 27), opened up about his relationship with Chahal and the on-field competition among them. Speaking to the media after returning with figures of 4 for 6, Kuldeep said he and Chahal are relaxed about their relationship, adding instead of feeling any competition, both help each other become better bowlers and understand the value of team combinations.</p>

We support and back each other,” Kuldeep said.</p>

<h2>‘Sitting out because of team combination is normal’</h2>

<p>Although Kuldeep remains the only Indian bowler to pick two ODI hat-tricks, the left-arm unorthodox spinner has sat out of the XI in 184 of 302 matches India played since his debut in 2017. Speaking in detail about how he deals with this situation, Kuldeep said after playing over six years of international cricket, such things are normal for him.</p>

<p>"You often have to sit outside because of the situation or the combination," he said. "It's become a normal thing. I've been playing cricket for such a long time - it's been six, six-and-a-half years [since my debut], and a lot of things have become normal.”</p>

<p>"When I put my name up for the auction, they (RCB) promised me that they will go all out for me," Chahal told Ranveer Allahbadia's YouTube channel. "I said okay, but then I was very angry. I think I did not speak to the coaches for two-three days. Even when I played my first match for RR against RCB, I did not speak to anyone."</p>

<p>"Definitely, I felt very bad. My main journey started in 2014. I also felt very weird because I played for the franchise for eight years. I would also say that I got the India cap because of my performances for RCB because they gave me a chance to perform. From the very first match, Virat bhai showed trust in me," Chahal added.</p>

<h2>Switch to RR actually benefited me, says Chahal</h2>

<p>As they say, what happens, happens for good. Chahal too felt the same after spending two seasons with Rajasthan Royals, wherein he picked 48 wickets and also won the Purple Cap during the Royals' run to their second IPL final in 2022.</p>

<p>"Anything can happen in the auction, and then I realised that it's okay, whatever happens, happens for good. The one plus point is that after coming to Rajasthan, I became a death bowler. At RCB, my overs were finished by the 16th or 17th over. Here, my cricket growth has improved 5-10 per cent. That attachment is definitely there for RCB, but coming to Rajasthan has helped my cricket a lot," Chahal added.</p>

IPL 2023: RR's Yuzvendra Chahal creates history, becomes first Indian to reach THIS milestone

<p>India is clearly on top of the mighty Aussies in the ongoing Test series and is looking strong in their quest of clean-sweeping them as well. With the hosts already retaining the Border-Gavaskar series, there is still much to look forward to in the remaining two Tests. Now with the 50-over series also in sight, the ODI-bound players have already started their training. While many of those selected for the three-match ODIs are part of the Test team, the ones who are not including Hardik Pandya, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Umran Malik among others will head to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru for a fitness and skill camp.</p>

<p>As reported by the Times of India (TOI), Chahal and Umran have already reached the NCA while Hardik, who was busy with his wedding functions, will join the fellow squad members including Shardul Thakur and Washington Sundar.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, the three-match ODI series will begin on March 17th with the first match slated to take place in Mumbai while Vizag (on the 19th) and Chennai (22nd) will host the remaining two games.</p>

<p>Speaking to India Today in a recent catch up, the leg-spinner briefed on how he felt about his omission from the playing XI, and also revealed what conversation he had with the captain Rohit Sharma regarding this.</p>

<p>“It's not an individual game. Every team has their own set of combination. And then I saw Ashwin and Axar performing well...those things happen in life. I just knew that if I get an opportunity I have to be ready and coach and Rohit bhai had clarified that to me,” Chahal said.</p>

<p>After facing two back-to-back blows in terms of not getting picked in the XI for T20 World Cup, Chahal is optimistic about retaining his place in the side for the 50-over World Cup in India next year. He although said playing for his country remains his priority, getting selected in the XI is not something on which he has any control.</p>

<p>“The 50-over World Cup is going to happen next. The last World Cup which I had played, in 2019, was also a 50-over World Cup. I don't tend to think about all this&nbsp;stuff that much. For me, what matters is playing for India, that is my first goal. Now, whether I am picked in the XI or not that is not in my hand. I hope I can continue playing in the same manner, get to play for my country and hope India becomes the champions in 2023,” Chahal added.<br />
