Kohli slammed a stunning unbeaten 82 off 53 deliveries to help India chase down the target of 160 runs and pull off a miraculous win at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).</p>

<p>An on-song Kohli produced yet another chasing masterclass as he bailed India out of trouble in the run-chase and kept them in the game till the final over before taking them over the line in what was an epic finish to the much-awaited clash. While Kohli admitted it was his best knock so far in his career, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma echoed similar sentiments after India's famous win.</p>

<p>India were reeling at 31/4 at one stage in the run-chase when Kohli combined with Hardik Pandya to steady the ship. The duo added 113 runs for the fifth wicket before Hardik was dismissed on the first ball off the final over with India requiring 16 runs off five balls.</p>

<p>The chase master was on top of his game as Virat Kohli pulled off one of the most memorable victories for India against their arch-rivals Pakistan in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022 on Sunday (October 23). Kohli looked in sublime touch as he delivered another chasing masterclass to snatch a famous victory from Pakistan's jaws in India's opener at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne.</p>

<p>In pursuit of a challenging target of 161 runs, India were in a spot of bother after losing opener KL Rahul cheaply on 4 off 8 balls when Kohli arrived in the middle. India were soon left reeling on 26/3 after losing both Rohit Sharma (4) and Suryakumar Yadav (15) in quick succession as Kohli took his time in settling down at the other end.</p>

<p>Axar Patel too soon followed suit as India were reduced to 31/4 and appeared in deep trouble before Kohli combined with Hardik Pandya to steady the ship. The duo put on a brilliant stand of 113 runs for the fifth wicket but Pandya struggled to play the big shots leaving Kohli with an uphill task.</p>

<p>However, the chase master as he is known for his several match-winning performances in run-chases in the past, was up for the challenge. Kohli shifted gears seamlessly in the death overs and played some sensational strokes all around the park to keep India in the game till the very last ball.</p>

<p>With 16 runs required off the final over, India lost Hardik on the very first delivery and managed only three runs off the next two balls. Kohli then played a stunning shot to slam a six off Mohammad Nawaz to bring the equation in India's favour. Mohammed Shami's heroics in the last over saw India defend 11 runs off it as the hosts fell short in the 187-run chase at The Gabba in Brisbane.</p>

<p>Shami, who was initially not a part of India's playing XI for the warm-up match, was called up by skipper Rohit Sharma to bowl the final over during Australia's innings with 11 runs to defend. Shami, who last played a T20I for India during the T20 World Cup last year, delivered an exceptional 20th over as he went on to pick three wickets.</p>

<p>Australia lost as many as four wickets on successive deliveries with Shami scalping three of them. He started off by conceding four runs off the first two deliveries before Cummins tried to go big on the third delivery and was caught by Virat Kohli on the boundary rope at long-on.</p>

<p>Kohli, who was stationed at the boundary rope, pulled off a one-handed screamer to send Cummins packing.
