US President Donald Trump has blamed the weather for his viral meltdown during an interview. This comes after the Republican lashed out at NBC’s Meet the Press moderator Kristen Welker before storming out of the television interview and accusing American media of being “crooked” over claims that the US elections are rigged.<h2>What happened during interview?</h2>During the interview, Welker questioned Trump about his proposed “anti-weaponisation fund,” which was designed to provide compensation to individuals who believe they were unfairly targeted by government investigations during the Biden administration. However, the proposal has reportedly failed to advance after receiving little support from federal authorities.Defending the proposal, Trump argued that political opponents and sections of the media had caused serious harm to people’s lives through what he described as unjust legal actions.“I love the idea because people like you, the fake dirty press, the crooked press, people like stupid Biden, he’s not smart enough to know what’s going on, but people that surrounded him ... what they did to the lives of people, they destroyed people. They sent people to jail who did nothing wrong,” Trump said.The discussion became more heated when Welker asked Trump to substantiate his long-standing claims that the 2020 presidential election was manipulated. The president maintained that evidence exists to support his allegations.“Listen to me: There’s tremendous evidence. There’s nothing but evidence. The election was rigged. It was a dirty election, and it’s happening again right now in California,” Trump said without providing any substantial evidence to suggest his claims.As Welker continued to press him for proof on his claims, Trump slammed her and the US media, saying, “No, they’re crooked. They’re crooked, just like you’re crooked. Your press is crooked, and Meet the Press is crooked.”When Welker rejected the accusations, Trump responded, “Really? Well, you play right into their hands then. You’re either crooked, or you’re stupid.”Trump went on to slam US media and said, “Your elections are crooked, and you’re crooked and Meet the Press is crooked, and so is ABC and CBS and CNN. You’re one-sided crooked networks.”Moments later, he stood up and walked off. “Let’s call it quits because I’ve had enough. Thank you, darling,” he said. When the moderator urged him to continue, he said, “I’ve given you enough time. You ought to straighten out your press because you know what, a country can never be great with a dishonest press,” before leaving.

Does he melt?”

US President Donald Trump on Sunday (May 31) touted his cognitive health as “extreme intelligence” after the White House released his medical check-up results days before. The medical examination, which happened on Tuesday (May 31) at the Walter Reed Military Hospital near Washington, comes weeks before his 80th birthday on June 14. The second-term president, whose frequent snoozing at public events and bruised hands slathered in makeup have constantly been making headlines, is in “excellent health”, claims the White House physician in a memo released on Friday (May 29).“The results of my Physical Examination, taken at Walter Reed Military Medical Center, and just released, were extremely good,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform. “Unlike other U.S. Presidents, none of whom have ever taken an approved, high difficulty, Cognitive Test, I scored a perfect 30 out of 30, considered ‘extreme intelligence.’”He further added, targeting Democrats, “Are the Dumocrats really surprised? In fact, this is my fourth such test, all PERFECT or, 120 correct answers out of 120 questions asked! It is very rare that anyone gets a Perfect Score, especially when achieved four times in a row.”“All people running for President and Vice President should be forced to take high difficulty Cognitive Tests. Congress, and the Democrats, should demand it!” he said.<h2>What did Trump’s medical report reveal?</h2>Trump’s physician said that the 79-year-old president was in “excellent health” but advised him to lose weight. According to the memo published by the White House, US Navy Captain Sean Barbabella said, “President Trump remains in excellent health, demonstrating strong cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and overall physical function.” In the three-page report, Barbabella concluded that Trump is “fully fit to carry out all duties of the Commander-in-Chief and Head of State.”“Preventative counseling was provided, including guidance on diet, recommendation to take a low-dose aspirin, increased physical activity, and continued weight loss,” the memo read. It added that Trump’s cardiac age is estimated to be “approximately 14 years younger than his chronological age.”Regarding the repeated questions over frequent bruising seen on the president’s back of hand and swollen ankles, the memo said, “Examination of the dorsal hands revealed ecchymosis (bruising), consistent with minor soft tissue irritation related to frequent handshaking in the setting of aspirin use for cardiovascular prevention.”The US president has often been seen dozing at several White House events. Despite several of him seen apparently closing his eyes having gone viral on social media, Trump has repeatedly denied that he fell asleep.Last year, the White House revealed that Trump has been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency – a common condition in which faulty vein valves allow blood to pool, causing swelling, cramping and skin changes. The disclosure came after Trump was seen with swollen ankles on several occasions.

US President Donald Trump underwent his annual medical examination on Tuesday at Walter Reed Military Hospital near Washington, days before turning 80 and amid growing public scrutiny over his health. According to AFP, Trump arrived at around 8:50 am (1250 GMT), with the check-up including both medical and dental evaluations. The visit comes as questions circulate about his visible fatigue during meetings and recurring bruising on his hand, which has drawn attention in recent weeks.&nbsp;<h2>White House monitoring and past medical disclosures</h2>&nbsp;The White House is expected to release a summary of the examination within days, although officials retain discretion over the level of detail provided. Trump, who is the oldest president ever inaugurated, has previously faced criticism over transparency regarding his health. Last year, the administration disclosed that he had been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, a condition in which faulty vein valves cause blood to pool, resulting in swelling and discomfort. The disclosure followed repeated public appearances showing swelling in his ankles. Officials have also said that bruising on his right hand is linked to aspirin use as part of a ‘standard’ cardiovascular regimen.&nbsp;ALSO READ: <a href="https://www.wionews.com/world/700gb-data-stolen-israeli-researchers-blame-iranian-hackers-for-los-angeles-transit-system-breach-1779796247002">700GB data stolen! He stated that the MRI showed his cardiovascular health was “excellent”. US President Donald Trump underwent his annual medical examination on Tuesday at Walter Reed Military Hospital near Washington, days before turning 80 and amid growing public scrutiny over his health. According to AFP, Trump arrived at around 8:50 am (1250 GMT), with the check-up including both medical and dental evaluations. The visit comes as questions circulate about his visible fatigue during meetings and recurring bruising on his hand, which has drawn attention in recent weeks. White House monitoring and past medical disclosures The White House is expected to release a summary of the examination within days, although officials retain discretion over the level of detail provided. Trump, who is the oldest president ever inaugurated, has previously faced criticism over transparency regarding his health. Last year, the administration disclosed that he had been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, a condition in which faulty vein valves cause blood to pool, resulting in swelling and discomfort. The disclosure followed repeated public appearances showing swelling in his ankles. Officials have also said that bruising on his right hand is linked to aspirin use as part of a ‘standard’ cardiovascular regimen. ALSO READ: 700GB data stolen! Israeli Researchers blame Iranian hackers for Los Angeles transit system breach Previous evaluations and medical claims Trump has undergone multiple medical assessments over the past year, including a scheduled check-up in April and an unannounced hospital visit in October, both of which triggered renewed public speculation about his condition. In October, Trump said he had undergone a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan as part of a second physical examination, later describing the results as reassuring. He stated that the MRI showed his cardiovascular health was “excellent”. White House physician Sean Barbabella confirmed the assessment in a memo following the examination, saying the president’s cardiac age, a clinical measure of cardiovascular fitness based on ECG data, was found to be approximately 14 years younger than his chronological age. Trump later defended the use of advanced imaging, saying, “Getting an MRI is very standard. What, you think I shouldn’t have it? As negotiations over a possible US-Iran agreement continue, Donald Trump has once again pushed for the expansion of the Abraham Accords, the diplomatic agreements that reshaped relations between Israel and parts of the Arab world in 2020. In a post on Truth Social, Trump said he had urged Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Pakistan, Turkey, Egypt and Jordan to join the accords, adding that if Iran reached an agreement with Washington, “it would be an Honor to have them also be part of this unparalleled World Coalition”, adding that, “The Abraham Accords have been great for them, and will be even better for everybody, and bring true Power, Strength, and Peace to the Middle East.” His remarks have renewed attention on an initiative that remains one of the most consequential diplomatic shifts in the modern Middle East. Trump has repeatedly said he wants to expand the accords that he brokered during his first term in the White House.<h2>What exactly are the Abraham Accords?</h2>The Abraham Accords were a series of agreements brokered by the United States during Trump’s first term to normalise diplomatic relations between Israel and several Arab nations. The United Arab Emirates and Bahrain signed first in September 2020, becoming the first Arab states in a quarter century to formally recognise Israel. Morocco and Sudan later followed in 2020 and 2021 respectively. The accords were heavily shaped by Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner and focused not only on diplomacy, but also on trade, investment, tourism and security cooperation.&nbsp;

Washington also viewed the accords as a strategic regional realignment aimed at countering Iranian influence while integrating Israel more deeply into the Middle East.&nbsp;

&nbsp;<h2>Why others still refuse to join</h2>Despite US pressure, several major Muslim-majority nations have refused to join. Saudi Arabia has repeatedly insisted that there can be no normalisation with Israel without a ‘clear path’ towards the creation of a Palestinian state, a demand strongly opposed by Israel’s current government. Pakistan, which has never formally recognised Israel since 1948, swiftly rejected Trump’s latest proposal. Supporters view them as a rare framework for regional cooperation in a deeply fractured region. Critics argue they bypassed the Palestinian issue without resolving it.&nbsp;Trump’s latest attempt to revive and expand the accords amid negotiations with Iran reflects a broader US strategy: reducing conflict through regional alliances while reshaping the balance of power in the Middle East. Whether more countries eventually join may depend less on Washington’s pressure and more on whether the region’s unresolved political conflicts can be addressed.

Will Iran war finally end? What we know and don’t know about fragile US-Iran deal still facing key disputes

Donald Trump isn't letting Stephen Colbert ride off into the sunset quietly. Just hours after The Late Show with Stephen Colbert aired its final episode on CBS, the US President took to Truth Social to ‘celebrate’ the show’s end and issue a sharp warning to the rest of late-night television.<h2>‘Beginning of the End’</h2>In a Friday morning post, Trump didn't hold back, framing Colbert’s departure not as a routine television finale, but as a forced exit. He called it the “Beginning of the End” for what he described as "untalented, nasty, highly overpaid, not funny, and very poorly rated Late Night Television Hosts." He even predicted that Colbert's peers would soon suffer the same fate. "Others, of even less talent, to soon follow," Trump wrote, capping the message off with a biting, "May they all Rest in Peace!"

Trump's post on Truth Social

&nbsp;It was the second time in 24 hours that the President used his platform to celebrate the end of Colbert's show. In an earlier post, Trump called the popular host a "jerk" and compared his onscreen presence to a "dead person." Claiming that poor ratings drove CBS to cancel the program, Trump added, "You could take any person off of the street and they would be better than this total jerk. Thank goodness he's finally gone!"

<h2>What was the actual reason behind ending Colbert’s show?</h2>Trump may have been celebrating the end of the show and citing arbitrary reasons behind the move, the entertainment world, however, points to a different narrative behind the curtain. While CBS officially cited rising costs and shifting ratings for pulling the plug, industry insiders have long tied the cancellation to the massive Skydance-Paramount merger. The network announced the end of The Late Show in July of last year, right before the merger secured necessary government approval in August.<h2>Trump’s long feud with comedy show hosts</h2>Trump’s public feud with late-night comedy is nothing new. Comedians like Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers, Jon Stewart, and John Oliver have spent years making him a focal point of their monologues, and Trump has frequently hit back. Lately, his rants have been aimed at Jimmy Kimmel. Last September, Trump publicly demanded ABC fire Kimmel over jokes made in the wake of the Charlie Kirk shooting. The tension escalated last month following a security incident at the White House Correspondents' Dinner, when First Lady Melania Trump urged the network to discipline Kimmel for a previous joke. The President quickly backed her up, echoing the call for Kimmel to be taken off the air. Meanwhile, Colbert has already moved on to a new career path. Rather than retirement, the comedian is pivoting to a major new passion project: he is set to write the screenplay for an upcoming Lord of the Rings film, collaborating directly with director Peter Jackson.

As Stephen Colbert's popular show The Late Show came to an end, US President Donald Trump took to TruthSocial to ‘celebrate’ the moment and even warned other late-night show hosts of a similar fate.

These fresh strikes mark a major escalation in a fragile truce reached between Israel and Lebanon on April 16. The ceasefire, brokered with direct mediation by US President Donald Trump, was initially agreed for 10 days and later extended by three weeks to allow wider diplomatic talks. The timing of Netanyahu's orders becomes notable as it comes hours after the US President Donald Trump decided to call off the visit of American negotiators Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to Pakistan at the last moment for talks with Tehran, minutes after Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi left Pakistan after wrapping up a diplomatic visit to Islamabad ahead of the expected arrival of the Washington delegation. However, Trump, signalling his willingness to continue negotiations with Tehran, said Iranian negotiators could call Washington "anytime they want" while confirming that calling off the visit did not automatically mean that war with Iran would resume despite the setback in peace efforts.

Ukrainian officials have reportedly proposed to rename a part of the Donbas region, which is coveted by Russia, to “Donnyland” as a nod to US President Donald Trump’s efforts against Moscow. The moniker is a reference to “Donbas” and “Donald”. According to a report, officials in Kyiv have repeatedly brought up the idea of Donnyland to the US. This comes as the war in Ukraine continues for more than four years, with Russia capturing the vast majority of Donbas and continuing to seek control of Donetsk.According to a New York Times report, citing people familiar with the negotiations, the renaming of Donbas was a part of an effort to convince the Trump administration to put more pressure on Russia’s territorial demands. Although there has been no official document suggesting the move. Russian President Vladimir Putin has vowed to continue fighting until Russian forces seize a key administrative boundary on the edge of the Donbas, the industrial region in eastern Ukraine where Russia first began waging war in 2014.The report added that the proposed “Donnyland” would cover an area of about 50 miles long and 40 miles wide in northeastern Donetsk, where Ukrainian forces have maintained a strong defensive belt despite sustained Russian offensives. Kyiv envisions the zone as a fortified buffer, reducing the risk of deeper incursions while buying time for longer-term security arrangements.The proposal for Donnyland even went as far as a negotiator creating its flag, coloured green and gold, and a national anthem using ChatGPT, the report added. It is not clear whether the US side saw these symbols.Meanwhile, Ukrainian officials have also explored a “Monaco model” for the region, referencing the Mediterranean city-state, in which a semi-autonomous entity with economic incentives is designed to stabilise the area while keeping it aligned with Ukraine.Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has repeatedly stressed the importance of US support, saying that the only man who can end the war in Ukraine is Trump. “I trust President Trump because he’s the president of the United States, because your people, your people voted for him, and I respect their choice, and I will work with President Trump,” Zelensky told NBC’s “Meet the Press” earlier this year.However, broader negotiations over the future of Donbas have stalled in recent months, since the US waged war on Iran.

Trump ‘talked’ into Iran war but can’t find an exit? Here’s how crisis is unfolding

Pakistan has emerged as a key mediator between the United States and Iran, with US President Donald Trump praising the country’s “great prime minister and field marshal, two fantastic people!!!” on Friday (Apr 17). Pakistani Prime Minister was quick to respond, expressing his “deep and profound appreciation for your kind and gracious words” on his and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir’s behalf. While Munir has become a key messenger, trusted by both Trump and the Iranians, US intelligence has flagged him as a potential liability for the Trump administration.According to a Fox News Digital report, concerns are mounting within the Trump administration over the role of Munir, who is acting as a key intermediary in back-channel talks between the United States and Iran amid escalating regional tensions. Pakistan’s Asim Munir is mediating US-Iran talks, but his ties to Iranian high-ranking figures raise concerns in Trump’s administration.

While Munir has become a key messenger, trusted by both Trump and the Iranians, US intelligence has flagged him as a potential liability for the Trump administration. According to a Fox News Digital report, concerns are mounting within the Trump administration over the role of Munir, who is acting as a key intermediary in back-channel talks between the United States and Iran amid escalating regional tensions. Intelligence assessments have flagged Munir’s longstanding ties with senior Iranian military figures as a “red flag”, raising questions about whether his involvement could compromise US strategic interests. Is Asim Munir a ‘massive red flag’ for Trump admin amid Iran talks? Report suggests...

Just nine days after President Donald Trump announced in a pre-dawn social media post that America had attacked Iran, the president said: “We have already won in many ways.”Two days later, at a campaign rally in Kentucky: “We won in the first hour.” By the end of March, there were several additional declarations of victory, including “We won. The war is over.”Fifty days after the February 28 war announcement, the only place where the war is actually over, and peace is near, is in the alternative universe inhabited by Trump.On April 18, four days before a fragile two-week ceasefire was to end, Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz just a day after having declared it open to traffic. Iranian state media declared the U.S. had failed to hold up its end of the bargain by blockading Iranian ports.How the present stalemate will be resolved is anyone’s guess, but it confirms that the American war of choice, dubbed Operation Epic Fury by Washington, would better be called Operation Epic Miscalculation.Trump’s repeated claims of victory are based on the fact that the American attack killed Iran’s Supreme Leader and the top tier of the Iranian government on the first day and damaged or destroyed dozens of missile factories and industrial; installations.It left intact the institutions of a dictatorial state and failed to crush its most powerful military establishment, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps. Its units responded to the American attack by using its sizeable arsenal of missiles to attack Gulf countries hosting U.S. military bases.A series of confused, contradictory and often extreme statements since the beginning of the war have stirred a growing and unusually public debate over the mental acuity of Trump. He turns 80 in June and began his second term in office as the oldest person ever to move into the White House.You might be forgiven for thinking that the war with Iran and its global implications – the Straits of Hormuz carries twenty per cent of the world’s oil – would keep the president too busy to pick rhetorical fights with high-profile critics.Such as Pope Leo XIV, the first American-born pope, is the spiritual leader of 1.4 billion Catholics worldwide. The pope enraged his fellow Americans by condemning the war on Iran and branding as “unacceptable” Trump’s actions and rhetoric, specifically a threat to destroy Iran’s civilisation.In a social media post, Trump responded by calling the pope “weak on crime and terrible for foreign policy.”This had a foreign policy follow-up: A noisy row with Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni, a right-wing conservative long considered the European leader closest to Trump. She described Trump’s attack on the pope as “unacceptable” and he shot back by accusing her of being indifferent to the threat of Iran acquiring a nuclear weapon.This dispute did not go down well with many of the 53 million Roman Catholics in the United States, and neither did an AI-generated social media image he posted showing himself as a Christ-like figure. The image prompted so many complaints that it was taken down from his Truth Social platform.Trump explained that the picture showed him not as Christ but as a doctor tending to a sick patient.This and a long string of confusing and contradictory statements on the war have left many Americans with what New York Times writer Peter Baker described as “the impression of a deranged autocrat mad with power.”Presidential historians say that the mental stability of a president has never been discussed as publicly, not even that of Trump’s predecessor, Joe Biden, who declined visibly after a disastrous debate performance with Trump.How widely debated Trump’s mental acuity is was thrown into sharp focus by a reporter’s question during a televised press conference. “What is your response to critics who say that it is your mental health that should perhaps be examined as this war continues?”The question, from Danny Kemp, a reporter for Agence France-Presse, followed a Trump social media posting which said: “Open the f****ng Strait (of Hormuz), you crazy b*****ds, or you’ll be living in hell.”While other presidents have used profanities when talking about adversaries, they did so in private to aides, not in public at a nationally televised press briefing.Democrats have long advocated removing Trump from power for disability to serve through the 25th Amendment of the US Constitution. But these are hollow words: such a move requires the vice president and a majority of the cabinet to inform Congress in writing that the President cannot serve.Remarkably, questions about Trump’s mental state are being asked by retired generals, diplomats and late-night comedians. Perhaps the most notable are charges from several prominent figures and former allies on the political right.Such as Marjorie Taylor Greene, the Georgia Republican who was long one of the president’s closest allies but recently broke with him. In a CNN interview on the war Trump started, she said the president’s apocalyptic threats were “not tough rhetoric but insanity.”

Trump 2.0: At home and abroad, doubts over the president’s sanity

US President Donald Trump seems to favour reporters who praise him and slam Democrats, but insults others who question him. In a video that has gone viral on social media, the US president compliments a male reporter by calling him “handsome” after he asks Trump a question that favours him. However, in a rant post on Truth Social, Trump slammed a female reporter after she released poll numbers showing the Republican has a 35 per cent approval rating.In a video on social media, a reporter asks Trump outside the White House, “Do policies like no tax on tips, no tax on overtime show that the Democratic Party is no longer the party of the working class and the Republican Party under your leadership actually is?”In response, Trump compliments the male reporter, saying, “I love this question. This is the greatest guy. Look how handsome he is. What a great guy he is.”<h2>Trump insults Jessica Tarlov</h2>In a rant on his Truth Social platform, Trump called Fox News reporter Jessica Tarlov “least attractive and talented” and “boring”, calling for her removal from the television. This came after the liberal panellist discussed the president’s relative unpopularity in most polls, with approval ratings of 35 per cent.Trump wrote, “I’m on Air Force One heading to Las Vegas and Arizona for Greetings and Speeches on NO TAX ON TIPS, a WINDFALL for our Great American Citizens. I am watching one of the Least Attractive and Talented People on all of Television, Jessica Tarlov. Her voice is so grating and terrible, I had to ‘turn her off!’”He further insulted her, saying, “Her Democrat soundbites are FAKE. She makes up ‘Poll Numbers,’ and nobody challenges her, because she is so boring. I have among the best Poll Numbers I have ever had, and why shouldn’t I, ALL THE COUNTRY DOES IS WIN. CNN had me at 100%, saying they never saw that before. GET HER OFF THE AIR, SHE IS BAD FOR OUR COUNTRY! I hear Megyn Kelly, Tucker Carlson, and Candace Owens are dying fast. Their numbers are terrible. Nobody believes them anymore. They were FAKE MAGA, and now they’ve been exposed!”

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un hailed his country’s strategic military capability as he oversaw a test of a high-thrust, solid-fuel engine for weapons, state media reported on Sunday (Mar 29). The test marks a significant step toward strengthening the country’s missile program, particularly its ability to develop weapons reportedly capable of reaching the United States mainland.Korean Central News Agency reported that the test involved an upgraded engine built using advanced composite carbon fibre materials. The engine reportedly achieved a maximum thrust of 2,500 kilotons, an increase from earlier tests, indicating rapid technological progress. Analysts believe such improvements could support efforts to mount multiple warheads on a single missile, enhancing the chances of penetrating missile defence systems. The report did not add where or when the test took place.In a speech at North Korea’s Parliament earlier, Kim pledged to irreversibly cement his country’s status as a nuclear power. He also accused the US of global “state terrorism and aggression.” He was most likely referring to the United States’ military operations in Iran.In recent years, North Korea has accelerated its missile testing program, including launches of solid-fuel ICBMs demonstrating the potential range to reach the US mainland. These weapons are considered more advanced than older liquid-fuel missiles because they can be deployed more quickly and are harder to detect before launch, increasing their survivability in a conflict scenario.While some experts argue North Korea still faces challenges—such as ensuring warheads can survive atmospheric reentry—others argue that the assessment given the number of years the country has spent on its nuclear and missile programs.Since the high-stakes talks with US President Donald Trump collapsed in 2019, North Korea has aggressively expanded its nuclear programme. At a recent Workers’ Party congress, leader Kim Jong Un signalled openness to renewed negotiations but insisted that the US must abandon its demand for denuclearisation as a precondition for dialogue.

This demonstrated Tehran’s missile capabilities, which the US had previously claimed were significantly reduced in its strikes.
